Installing ASUS display drivers for Windows 2000/XP
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Method 1 (ASUS Autorun. Quick installation)
1. Start Windows.
2. Put ASUS driver CD into CD-ROM drive.
3. The AutoPlay function of CD-ROM will work and pop up ASUS Autorun
window.
4. Select "Install display driver" option.
5. Follow the instructions on dialog. Driver will be installed and
request for restart.
6. Reboot system and your video adapter is now ready to use.
Method 2 (Run ASUS installation program directly)
1. Start Windows.
2. Put ASUS driver CD into CD-ROM drive.
3. Change to "D:\Win2kXP\ASUS" directory and execute "ANvSETUP.EXE". You also can
change to "D:\Win2kXP\ANvWest" or "D:\Win2kXP\ANvEast" directory (depending on
your language) for multi-language support installation and run "setup.exe".
4. Follow the instructions. Driver will be installed and request for
restarting.
5. Reboot system and your video adapter is now ready to use.
Method 3 (Manual installation)
1. These drivers must be installed by a user with Windows 2000/XP Administrator
privileges. Please consult your system administrator or Microsoft Windows 2000/XP
User's Manual for more information on Administrator privileges.
2. Start Microsoft Windows 2000/XP.
3. From the Start menu, select Settings.
4. Select Control Panel.
5. Select System.
6. Select Hardware tab.
7. Select Device Manager.
8. Select other devices.
9. Right click the VGA compatible and select Properties.
10. Select Driver.
11. Select Update Driver.
12. Select Next.
13. Click the box next to "Display a list of the known drivers for this device
so that I can choose a specific driver" to place a check mark in the box.
select Next.
14. Select "Have Disk..."
15. Windows 2000 will prompt you for the correct path, enter the path of the driver
such as D:\Win2kXP (assuming your CD-ROM drive is letter D)
16. A list of video adapters will be displayed. Select the correct card you are using,
then Click Next.
17. Select Next.
18. Select Finish.
19 Select Close.
20. Windows 2000/XP will ask if you wish to restart the computer

Installation Steps
------------------
You can use 4 methods to install Windows 98/ME display driver:
We suppose the path of your driver CD is "D:\" and use Windows 98 as an
example.
Method 1 (PnP installation)
1. Remove your previous video adapter and plug your ASUS display card in system.
Start Windows. Windows will find a new device and pop up a PnP dialog
that asks for its driver.
2. Type the "D:\Win9xMe" for Windows to find the INF file of ASUS display card.
3. Windows will install its driver automatically and then request for
restarting.
4. Choose Yes to reboot your system. The driver will work when Windows
comes up.
5. Note that this method will not install DirectX runtime libraries and
VGARTD driver.

IMPORTANT for Users:
Before Installing, make sure you have installed NT 4.0 Service Pack 3.0
or greater, otherwise NT 4.0 will hang up when reboot again.
After plugging your graphics card, Windows NT 4.0 will default to the
standard VGA mode (640 x 480, 16 colors). The procedure below describes
how to install ASUS display drivers for Windows NT 4.0.
Installing ASUS display drivers for Windows NT 4.0
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Start up Windows NT in VGA mode.
2. Run the Windows NT Display program located in the Control Panel, under
"Settings" in the Start menu or right click the mouse button on the
desktop and select "Properties" from the popup menu.
3. Select the "Settings" tab.
4. Select "Display Type...".
5. Select "Change..." from the display options.
6. Select "Have Disk..."
7. NT will prompt you for the correct path, enter the path of the driver
such as D:\NT40 (assuming your CD-ROM drive is letter D)
8. A list of video adapters will be displayed. Select the ASUS display driver
you are using, then click on the "OK" button.
9. Windows NT will once again prompt for confirmation.
All appropriate files are then copied to the hard disk.
10. Select "Apply" in Control Panel. Restart Windows NT. Windows NT will
start up using the ASUS display drivers.
11. NT will boot into a default mode and start the Display applet allowing
for mode selection.
