KNOWN ISSUES WITH THIS UPDATE:
If the scanner still is not found after installing the update and restarting Windows, unplug the scanner's USB and power cables. Wait twenty seconds and then plug them back in.
You may have to also remove the scanner from Device Manager if it is found as an "Unknown Device" by Windows.
Instructions on how to remove a HP Scanjet scanner and/or Unknown Device from Device Manager in Windows 2000 or Windows XP:
In Windows XP, Click Start, right-click My Computer, then Properties .
a. In Windows 2000, find the My Computer Icon on the Desktop, right click on My Computer, then Properties.
The System Properties box will appear.
Click the Hardware tab and Device Manager.
Click the plus sign (+) next to Imaging Devices. A drop down menu will appear.
Highlight the entry for the HP Scanjet scanner and/or Unknown Device then click Remove.
Click OK to remove the device.
Close Device Manager and the System Properties windows.
To download: Choose the file you want to download to your system. With your mouse, click on the file. In the 'save as' dialogue, you will be prompted to select the folder (subdirectory) where you want the file downloaded. Once the file is downloaded, double-click on the file, the software will decompress and then install automatically.
Please restart your system after the update is finished installing.

It a problem which causes the HP Copy Utility to not print when used with certain USB printers. NOTE: The HP Scanning Coach is a utility included on the HP PrecisionScan Pro software package that provides you with a wizard style help for the scanner software. It automatically executes the first time HP PrecisionScan Pro is used and can be accessed thereafter through the Help menu.

KNOWN ISSUES WITH THIS UPDATE:
If the scanner still is not found after installing the update and restarting Windows, unplug the scanner's USB and power cables. Wait twenty seconds and then plug them back in.
You may have to also remove the scanner from Device Manager if it is found as an "Unknown Device" by Windows.
Instructions on how to remove a HP Scanjet scanner and/or Unknown Device from Device Manager in Windows 2000 or Windows XP:
In Windows XP, Click Start, right-click My Computer, then Properties .
a. In Windows 2000, find the My Computer Icon on the Desktop, right click on My Computer, then Properties.
The System Properties box will appear.
Click the Hardware tab and Device Manager.
Click the plus sign (+) next to Imaging Devices. A drop down menu will appear.
Highlight the entry for the HP Scanjet scanner and/or Unknown Device then click Remove.
Click OK to remove the device.
Close Device Manager and the System Properties windows.
To download: Choose the file you want to download to your system. With your mouse, click on the file. In the 'save as' dialogue, you will be prompted to select the folder (subdirectory) where you want the file downloaded. Once the file is downloaded, double-click on the file, the software will decompress and then install automatically.
Please restart your system after the update is finished installing.

When using Precision Scan Pro with either a 6200C family or a 6250C family scanner and the integrated Optical Character Recognition (OCR) engine, a problem may occur when saving a document as a text file. The following conditions may cause the problem: Specify "text" as the Output Type, scan the document, and save it as a text file (.txt). Specify "text" as the Output Type, scan the document, and copy and paste it into another application. After the OCR is done and the image is saved as a text file (.txt), the last word of each line and the first word of the following line of the original document are merged together without a space. This problem occurs only when using the integrated Precision Scan Pro OCR engine (not when using Caere OmniPage Pro or any other 3rd party OCR software).

KNOWN ISSUES WITH THIS UPDATE:
If the scanner still is not found after installing the update and restarting Windows, unplug the scanner's USB and power cables. Wait twenty seconds and then plug them back in.
You may have to also remove the scanner from Device Manager if it is found as an "Unknown Device" by Windows.

In Windows XP, Click Start, right-click My Computer, then Properties .
a. In Windows 2000, find the My Computer Icon on the Desktop, right click on My Computer, then Properties.
The System Properties box will appear.
Click the Hardware tab and Device Manager.
Click the plus sign (+) next to Imaging Devices. A drop down menu will appear.
Highlight the entry for the HP Scanjet scanner and/or Unknown Device then click Remove.
Click OK to remove the device.
Close Device Manager and the System Properties windows.

In Windows XP, Click Start, right-click My Computer, then Properties .
a. In Windows 2000, find the My Computer Icon on the Desktop, right click on My Computer, then Properties.
The System Properties box will appear.
Click the Hardware tab and Device Manager.
Click the plus sign (+) next to Imaging Devices. A drop down menu will appear.
Highlight the entry for the HP Scanjet scanner and/or Unknown Device then click Remove.
Click OK to remove the device.
Close Device Manager and the System Properties windows.
To download: Choose the file you want to download to your system. With your mouse, click on the file. In the 'save as' dialogue, you will be prompted to select the folder (subdirectory) where you want the file downloaded. Once the file is downloaded, double-click on the file, the software will decompress and then install automatically.
Please restart your system after the update is finished installing.

The following conditions may cause the problem: Specify "text" as the Output Type, scan the document, and save it as a text file (.txt). Specify "text" as the Output Type, scan the document, and copy and paste it into another application. After the OCR is done and the image is saved as a text file (.txt), the last word of each line and the first word of the following line of the original document are merged together without a space. This problem occurs only when using the integrated Precision Scan Pro OCR engine (not when using Caere OmniPage Pro or any other 3rd party OCR software).
