Novel TCP/IP Configurator.
Size Driver
1.4MB
File Name
2310nvlenuipcfg.exe
Observations
This CD-ROM contains IP/IPX MAP software which is an administrative tool. It
generates a list of compatible network printers which is displayed using the
default browser installed on the PC. The network adminstrator can use URL links
in the page to access the printer's HTML configuration menus.
To use this software package, your PC must have the Microsoft TCP/IP compatible
protocol(s) installed in the Network Configuration. This program has been
developed and tested using Microsoft network protocol stacks supplied with
Windows 95/98 and Windows NT 4.0. Operation in conjunction with third party
network stacks is not guaranteed.
The IP communication is via a TCP port. The port number used by this utility must
be the same as the TCP port number used by the printer. The printer port number
is identified on the configuration sheet from the printer and may be changed
using the setup capabilities for the printer NIC.
The IPX communication uses the IPX capabilities that are supplied with Microsoft
Windows 95/98 and Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 or Novell Client 32. To use this
capability, your PC must have the Microsoft IPX/SPX compatible protocol(s)
installed in the Network Configuration. This capability will work even if there
is no Novell NetWare file server on the network.
To use the MAP software, your PC must also have a web browser installed. If more
than one browser is installed, the MAP software will automatically use the one
setup as the default browser. The MAP software has been tested with Microsoft
Internet Explorer, Netscape Navigator, and Netscape Communicator. Compatibility
with other browsers is not guaranteed.
To install the software, run [drive]:\MAP\Setup.exe program on this CD-ROM. The
software will be installed to a directory of your choice.
To remove the software from your PC, run the Add/Remove Programs facility inside
the Windows Control Panel.
Microsoft Windows 95, Microsoft Windows 98, Microsoft Windows NT, and Microsoft
Internet Explorer are registered trademarks of Microsoft Corporation. Netscape
Navigator and Netscape Communicator are registered trademarks of Netscape
Corporation.
MAP has the following requirements:
1. The Microsoft TCP/IP protocol stack must be installed on this PC. It is not
necessary for the network to support TCP/IP. However, the TCP/IP protocol must
be installed on this PC even if the network does not support it.
2. A web browser must be installed on this PC. Both Netscape Navigator and
Internet Explorer are supported.
3. If the IPX search functions are to be used, then IPX must be installed on
this PC. Both the Microsoft and the NetWare 32-bit stacks are supported.
4. MAP uses PORT 34 as an HTTP Server Port for the IPX to IP Gateway. If the IPX
serach functions are to be used, then there may be no other functions or programs
utilizing PORT 34.
