3. Installation
To use this unit as a printer, it is first necessary to install the
Mita MIP-650/Point Source Vi 30 printer driver in your computer.
1) Start up Windows 3.1 (or 3.11). Quit all other applications that
may be open and start up Program Manager.
2) Insert the Windows 3.1 (or 3.11) Printer Driver Installer Disk
into Floppy Drive A.
3) Use the mouse to point to [File] in the Menu Bar and click on
[Run...] in the drop-down menu which is displayed.
4) Type [a:\install] in the [Command Line] dialogue box and then
click on [OK].
5) Click on [Continue].
6) Make sure that [A:\] is displayed and click on [OK].
7) Another window to reconfirm the floppy drive will appear. Click
on [OK]. Installation of the printer driver will begin.
8) Once installation is complete, click on [Restart Windows] to
restart Windows.
4. Removing the printer driver
1) Start up Windows 3.1 (or 3.11). Quit all other applications that
may be open and start up Program Manager.
2) Insert the Windows 3.1 (or 3.11) Printer Driver Installer Disk
into Drive A.
3) Use the mouse to point to [File] in the Menu Bar and click on
[Run...] in the drop-down menu which is displayed.
4) Type [a:\uninst] in the [Command Line] dialogue box and then
click on [OK].
5) Click on [Yes].
The printer driver will be removed.
6) Once the removal procedure is complete, click on [Restart
Windows] to restart Windows.
5. Cautions during printing
1) This printer is not available for use as a network printer under
Windows 3.1 or 3.11.
2) If any another printer driver is installed in your computer, it
is possible that printing will not be accomplished correctly. If
you experience trouble, remove the other printer driver and then
attempt to print once again. Refer to the instruction manual of
the other printer driver for details on removal.
3) If printing troubles develop, first cancel the print job
currently in progress and then turn the power to the printer OFF
and then ON again.
Then attempt to print once again. If the trouble persists,
contact your service representative, an authorised service
centre or the place of purchase.
4) If there is insufficient space on your hard disk due to the size
of your applications and/or files, the print job may be cancelled
during processing. In this case, make free space available on
your hard disk, and then attempt to print once again.
5) When there is insufficient toner in the printer, a message will
appear on the printer's message display.
6) If the paper size setting in your computer does not match the
size of paper that is set in the printer, it is possible that
printing will not be accomplished correctly. Make sure that the
paper size setting in your computer matches the size of paper
that is set in the printer.

3. Installation
To use this unit as a printer, it is first necessary to install the
Mita MIP-650/Point Source Vi 30 printer driver in your computer.
1) Start up Windows 95. Quit all other applications that may be
open.
2) Insert the Windows 95 Printer Driver Installer Disk into a Floppy
Drive.
3) Click on [Start] in the Task Bar.
4) Use the mouse to point to [Settings] and click on [Printers] in
the submenu which is displayed.
5) The [Printers] folder will open. Double-click on the [Add
printer] icon.
6) Continue the installation procedure by following each of the
steps described on-screen.
7) The Mita MIP-650/Point Source Vi 30 will be designated as the
default printer in the [Set As Default] setting.
4. Removing the printer driver
1) Start up Windows 95. Quit all other applications that may be
open.
2) Click on [Start] in the Task Bar. Use the mouse to point to
[Settings] and click on [Printers] in the submenu that is
displayed.
3) Use the right mouse button to click on the [Mita MIP-650/Point
Source Vi 30] icon and then click on [Delete].
4) Continue the removal procedure by following each of the steps
described on-screen.
5. Cautions during printing
1) If any another printer driver is installed in your computer, it
is possible that printing will not be accomplished correctly. If
you experience trouble, remove the other printer driver and then
attempt to print once again. Refer to the instruction manual of
the other printer driver for details on removal.
2) If the Mita MIP-650/Point Source Vi 30 is selected as a network
printer during installation of the printer driver, a message will
appear which tells you that the "MFC40.TMP" and "MSVCRT40.TMP"
files could not be found. At this point, click on [Skip] to
continue the installation procedure.
3) The [General] and [Separate Page] menus will be displayed when
you use the Mita MIP-650/Point Source Vi 30, but neither of them
will be functional.
4) Even if [Start printing after 1st page is spooled] is selected,
it will not be functional and a system error message
(insufficient memory) may appear. In this case, lower the
printing resolution or select [Start printing after last page is
spooled], and then attempt to print once again.
5) The [Spool MS-DOS print job] and [Check port state before
printing] sub-menus will be displayed in the [Detail] and [Port
setting...] menus when you use the Mita MIP-650/Point Source Vi
30, but neither of them will be functional.
6) If printing troubles develop, first cancel the print job
currently in progress and then turn the power to the printer OFF
and then ON again. Then attempt to print once again. If the
trouble persists, contact your service representative, an
authorised service centre or the place of purchase.
