Please note that with this driver version:
Aligning and cleaning print cartridges is only available through the services tab under printing preferences.
There is no installer shell.
There is no bi-directional communication so users will not see status messages.
Printer driver icon shortcuts are not installed on the desktop.
Driver messaging is disabled when the driver is installed on a server with Windows Terminal Services enabled.
Note: For client based installs in a Windows Terminal Server environment, consult your Windows Terminal Server admin for the preferred installation method. You must also run the Uninstaller from the printer driver CD included with your printer before you attempt to install this downloaded file. You must also reboot your computer after uninstalling the old driver. To Install:
Before you download the driver from the web, create the directory on your hard drive: c:\dj895.
Download the driver to c:\dj895.
Using Windows 2000 Explorer (Go to Start, Programs, Accessories & Click on Windows Explorer). Double click to the c:\dj895 directory.
Double-click on the file ' 895-WTS-enu-2kinfu.exe' you downloaded and it will expand showing a 3 letter language directory (For Example, 'ENU' is for English). Also you will see the 'hpsfx' file.
You must now add a printer. Follow the Sequence to 'Add Printer': click on Start and move toSettings and click on Printers.
Double Click on Add Printer.
Select Local or Network printer and click NEXT.
If "Windows was unable to detect any Plug and Play printers", click next.
Select a port (Typically LPT 1) and click NEXT.
Click Have Disk and then Click Browse.
Go to the c:\dj895 directory & double click on the 3 letter language folder(for English it is ENU).
Double click on 'drivers' directory.
Double click on 'Win_2k' directory and select the ' hpf895k.inf' file and click open.
Click OK from the Install From Disk Menu.
Select 'hp deskjet 895c series' and click next.
Name your Printer Accordingly and click next.
Click Next on the Printer Sharing Menu.
Select Yes or No for a Test Page printout and then click next.
Complete Add Printer Wizard by clicking on Finish.
Windows will now install the driver files. Click OK to complete the driver installation.
To Uninstall:
This driver does not come with a Hewlett-Packard built-in uninstaller. To uninstall the driver:
Go to the control panel, printers folder, highlight the printer and select file, delete.

Description: Use this utility when:
The USB driver installs part way, then the driver will not install. The Add New Hardware Wizard will not appear or one of the following conditions will occur.
After selecting Finish on the Add New Hardware Wizard during a USB install, the HP Printer Driver Installation screen fails to appear.
Plugging in the USB cable causes the Add New Hardware Wizard to appear on the screen briefly. The USB port driver loads, and the Printer Driver Installation screen fails to appear. There is no interaction required from the user in this scenario.
After printing successfully with the printer installed on the USB port and then uninstalling the printer driver, attempts to reinstall it fail.
Information:
The computer will not recognize the printer a second time (as described above) because during the first installation keys and folders are put into the computer's registry. The uninstaller on the installation CD will not delete these keys and folders that refer to the printer, therefore it appears to the computer that the printer is installed and will not allow it to be installed a second time. These printer entries in the registry need to be deleted. HP has developed an uninstaller utility that will delete all of the unnecessary printer references from the registry.

Instructions for running the USB Uninstall Utility from the Web site:
Unplug the USB cable from either the printer or the computer.
Click the Download button. The next screen should have a dot in the button next to "Save this program to disk", if not, select it.
Click OK.
In the Save in field, click the arrow to see the dropdown menu, select Desktop. Make note of the name in the File Name field.
Click Save. The file will be save to the Windows Desktop.
Close the web browser.
When the Desktop appears, double click the xxx.exe file just saved to the Desktop.
In the Unzip to folder field, click the Browse button to see the drop down menu, select Desktop, and click OK.
Click Unzip. A message "2file(s) unzipped successfully" will appear. Click OK
Close the Winzip Self Extractor window.
Find the new HP icon on the Desktop labeled scr_xxx.exe. (xxx will be the model number of the printer.
Double click the HP icon. This will only take seconds.
Click Yes when asked "Do you want to restart your computer now?"
The computer will restart.
The printer may now be reinstalled by carefully following the set up instructions from the setup poster, the manual, or the web.

Change directory to c:\dj895.
Download the driver to c:\dj895.
Double-click on the exe that you just downloaded. This will extract the files.
You will see a 3-letter language directory. For example, if you downloaded the English driver, you will see a directory enu under c:\dj895.
Before you install this software, the printer's power cord must be plugged in and paper must be loaded. Turn on the printer and insert the print cartridges. Make sure that the Parallel cable is NOT connected!
Click on Start -> Settings -> Printers. Double-click on Add Printer.
Click Next, Choose Printer Port (typically LPTx:), Click Next again.
Click Have Disk, then Browse.
Double-click on the drive where you downloaded the driver files (in the example c:\dj895) and locate the <3 letter language code>\drivers\Win_NT\ directory.
Choose hpf895n.inf, Click Open, Click OK.

To Install:
Use the Add Printer Wizard to install either a local or networked printer. When you extract this downloaded file, it will create a DJ895/Ntinf directory. Run the Add Printer Wizard, choose "Have Disk", and point to the DJ895/Ntinf directory. Double click on the hpdj.inf file.
Once the driver is installed on a server, client PCs can install the driver by simply dragging the printer icon into their Printers folder or by dragging a document onto the printer icon, or by doing an Add Printer, Network printer. If the driver is not already present on the client PC, a copy is automatically installed from the server. Point and Print is supported from a Windows NT 4.0 client to a Windows NT 4.0 server and from a Windows 9x client to a Windows 9x server. Point and Print is not supported from a Windows 9x client to a Windows NT 4.0 server.
To Uninstall:
This driver does not come with an Hewlett-Packard built-in uninstaller. There are two ways to uninstall the driver:
1). Go to the control panel, printers folder, highlight the printer and select file, delete.

To Install:

To Install:
Before you download the driver from the web, create the directory on your hard drive: c:\dj895.
Download the driver to c:\dj895.
Using Windows 2000 Explorer (Go to Start, Programs, Accessories & Click on Windows Explorer). Double click to the c:\dj895 directory.
Double-click on the file ' 895-WTS-enu-2kinfu.exe' you downloaded and it will expand showing a 3 letter language directory (For Example, 'ENU' is for English). Also you will see the 'hpsfx' file.
You must now add a printer. Follow the Sequence to 'Add Printer': click on Start and move toSettings and click on Printers.
Double Click on Add Printer.
Select Local or Network printer and click NEXT.
If "Windows was unable to detect any Plug and Play printers", click next.
Select a port (Typically LPT 1) and click NEXT.
Click Have Disk and then Click Browse.
Go to the c:\dj895 directory & double click on the 3 letter language folder(for English it is ENU).
Double click on 'drivers' directory.
Double click on 'Win_2k' directory and select the ' hpf895k.inf' file and click open.
Click OK from the Install From Disk Menu.
Select 'hp deskjet 895c series' and click next.
Name your Printer Accordingly and click next.
Click Next on the Printer Sharing Menu.
Select Yes or No for a Test Page printout and then click next.
Complete Add Printer Wizard by clicking on Finish.
Windows will now install the driver files. Click OK to complete the driver installation.
To Uninstall:
This driver does not come with a Hewlett-Packard built-in uninstaller. To uninstall the driver:

Description: Use this utility when:
The USB driver installs part way, then the driver will not install. The Add New Hardware Wizard will not appear or one of the following conditions will occur.
After selecting Finish on the Add New Hardware Wizard during a USB install, the HP Printer Driver Installation screen fails to appear.
Plugging in the USB cable causes the Add New Hardware Wizard to appear on the screen briefly. The USB port driver loads, and the Printer Driver Installation screen fails to appear. There is no interaction required from the user in this scenario.
After printing successfully with the printer installed on the USB port and then uninstalling the printer driver, attempts to reinstall it fail.
Information:
The computer will not recognize the printer a second time (as described above) because during the first installation keys and folders are put into the computer's registry. The uninstaller on the installation CD will not delete these keys and folders that refer to the printer, therefore it appears to the computer that the printer is installed and will not allow it to be installed a second time. These printer entries in the registry need to be deleted. HP has developed an uninstaller utility that will delete all of the unnecessary printer references from the registry.

Instructions for running the USB Uninstall Utility from the Web site:
Unplug the USB cable from either the printer or the computer.
Click the Download button. The next screen should have a dot in the button next to "Save this program to disk", if not, select it.
Click OK.
In the Save in field, click the arrow to see the dropdown menu, select Desktop. Make note of the name in the File Name field.
Click Save. The file will be save to the Windows Desktop.
Close the web browser.
When the Desktop appears, double click the xxx.exe file just saved to the Desktop.
In the Unzip to folder field, click the Browse button to see the drop down menu, select Desktop, and click OK.
Click Unzip. A message "2file(s) unzipped successfully" will appear. Click OK
Close the Winzip Self Extractor window.
Find the new HP icon on the Desktop labeled scr_xxx.exe. (xxx will be the model number of the printer.
Double click the HP icon. This will only take seconds.
Click Yes when asked "Do you want to restart your computer now?"
The computer will restart.
The printer may now be reinstalled by carefully following the set up instructions from the setup poster, the manual, or the web.

The HP DeskJet 895 printer driver, version 3.2 supports the HP DeskJet 895Cse and 895Cxi printers for Windows 2000. Please note that the instructions below are for users that will be using a Parallel cable connection from the computer to the printer.
Please note that with this driver version:
Aligning and cleaning print cartridges is only available through the services tab under printing preferences.
There is no installer shell.
There is no bi-directional communication so users will not see status messages.
Printer driver icon shortcuts are not installed on the desktop.
Driver messaging is disabled when the driver is installed on a server with Windows Terminal Services enabled.
Note: For client based installs in a Windows Terminal Server environment, consult your Windows Terminal Server admin for the preferred installation method. You must also run the Uninstaller from the printer driver CD included with your printer before you attempt to install this downloaded file. You must also reboot your computer after uninstalling the old driver. For help uninstalling the driver, locate the document "How to Remove the Printer Software in Windows 95, 98, Me, NT 4.0, and Windows 2000" located on the HP DeskJet 895 support page.

To Install:
Before you download the driver from the web, create the directory on your hard drive: c:\dj895.
Download the driver to c:\dj895.
Using Windows 2000 Explorer (Go to Start, Programs, Accessories & Click on Windows Explorer). Double click to the c:\dj895 directory.
Double-click on the file ' 895-WTS-enu-2kinfu.exe' you downloaded and it will expand showing a 3 letter language directory (For Example, 'ENU' is for English). Also you will see the 'hpsfx' file.
You must now add a printer. Follow the Sequence to 'Add Printer': click on Start and move toSettings and click on Printers.
Double Click on Add Printer.
Select Local or Network printer and click NEXT.
If "Windows was unable to detect any Plug and Play printers", click next.
Select a port (Typically LPT 1) and click NEXT.
Click Have Disk and then Click Browse.
Go to the c:\dj895 directory & double click on the 3 letter language folder(for English it is ENU).
Double click on 'drivers' directory.
Double click on 'Win_2k' directory and select the ' hpf895k.inf' file and click open.
Click OK from the Install From Disk Menu.
Select 'hp deskjet 895c series' and click next.
Name your Printer Accordingly and click next.
Click Next on the Printer Sharing Menu.
Select Yes or No for a Test Page printout and then click next.
Complete Add Printer Wizard by clicking on Finish.
Windows will now install the driver files. Click OK to complete the driver installation.
To Uninstall:
This driver does not come with a Hewlett-Packard built-in uninstaller. To uninstall the driver:
Go to the control panel, printers folder, highlight the printer and select file, delete.

To Install:
Create a new directory on your hard drive. For this example, we'll say c:\dj895.
Change directory to c:\dj895.
Download the driver to c:\dj895.
Double-click on the exe that you just downloaded. This will extract the files.
You will see a 3-letter language directory. For example, if you downloaded the English driver, you will see a directory enu under c:\dj895.
Before you install this software, the printer's power cord must be plugged in and paper must be loaded. Turn on the printer and insert the print cartridges. Make sure that the Parallel cable is NOT connected!
Click on Start -> Settings -> Printers. Double-click on Add Printer.
Click Next, Choose Printer Port (typically LPTx:), Click Next again.
Click Have Disk, then Browse.
Double-click on the drive where you downloaded the driver files (in the example c:\dj895) and locate the <3 letter language code>\drivers\Win_NT\ directory.
Choose hpf895n.inf, Click Open, Click OK.
Choose the appropriate printer (hp deskjet 895c series), click next.
Choose Replace if a dialog asks you, click Next.
Type a Name for the printer, click Next. Click Next again.
Click Finish.
The location of the driver file will be, for example, C:\dj895\enu\drivers\Win_NT\. Your path may look different from the example, depending on where you saved the downloaded file.
To Uninstall:

To Install:
Create a new directory on your hard drive. For this example, we'll say c:\dj895.
Change directory to c:\dj895.
Download the driver to c:\dj895.
Double-click on the exe that you just downloaded. This will extract the files.
You will see a 3-letter language directory. For example, if you downloaded the English driver, you will see a directory enu under c:\dj895.
Before you install this software, the printer's power cord must be plugged in and paper must be loaded. Turn on the printer and insert the print cartridges. Make sure that the Parallel cable is NOT connected!
Click on Start -> Settings -> Printers. Double-click on Add Printer.
Click Next, Choose Printer Port (typically LPTx:), Click Next again.
Click Have Disk, then Browse.
Double-click on the drive where you downloaded the driver files (in the example c:\dj895) and locate the <3 letter language code>\drivers\Win_NT\ directory.
Choose hpf895n.inf, Click Open, Click OK.
Choose the appropriate printer (hp deskjet 895c series), click next.
Choose Replace if a dialog asks you, click Next.
Type a Name for the printer, click Next. Click Next again.
Click Finish.
The location of the driver file will be, for example, C:\dj895\enu\drivers\Win_NT\. Your path may look different from the example, depending on where you saved the downloaded file.

To Install:
Before you download the driver from the web, create the directory on your hard drive: c:\dj895.
Download the driver to c:\dj895.
Using Windows 2000 Explorer (Go to Start, Programs, Accessories & Click on Windows Explorer). Double click to the c:\dj895 directory.
Double-click on the file ' 895-WTS-enu-2kinfu.exe' you downloaded and it will expand showing a 3 letter language directory (For Example, 'ENU' is for English). Also you will see the 'hpsfx' file.
You must now add a printer. Follow the Sequence to 'Add Printer': click on Start and move toSettings and click on Printers.
Double Click on Add Printer.
Select Local or Network printer and click NEXT.
If "Windows was unable to detect any Plug and Play printers", click next.
Select a port (Typically LPT 1) and click NEXT.
Click Have Disk and then Click Browse.
Go to the c:\dj895 directory & double click on the 3 letter language folder(for English it is ENU).
Double click on 'drivers' directory.
Double click on 'Win_2k' directory and select the ' hpf895k.inf' file and click open.
Click OK from the Install From Disk Menu.
Select 'hp deskjet 895c series' and click next.
Name your Printer Accordingly and click next.
Click Next on the Printer Sharing Menu.
Select Yes or No for a Test Page printout and then click next.
Complete Add Printer Wizard by clicking on Finish.
Windows will now install the driver files. Click OK to complete the driver installation.

The HP DeskJet 895 printer driver, version 3.2 supports the HP DeskJet 895Cse and 895Cxi printers for Windows 2000. Please note that the instructions below are for users that will be using a Parallel cable connection from the computer to the printer.
Please note that with this driver version:
Aligning and cleaning print cartridges is only available through the services tab under printing preferences.
There is no installer shell.
There is no bi-directional communication so users will not see status messages.
Printer driver icon shortcuts are not installed on the desktop.
Driver messaging is disabled when the driver is installed on a server with Windows Terminal Services enabled.
Note: For client based installs in a Windows Terminal Server environment, consult your Windows Terminal Server admin for the preferred installation method. You must also run the Uninstaller from the printer driver CD included with your printer before you attempt to install this downloaded file. You must also reboot your computer after uninstalling the old driver. For help uninstalling the driver, locate the document "How to Remove the Printer Software in Windows 95, 98, Me, NT 4.0, and Windows 2000" located on the HP DeskJet 895 support page.

To Install:
Before you download the driver from the web, create the directory on your hard drive: c:\dj895.
Download the driver to c:\dj895.
Using Windows 2000 Explorer (Go to Start, Programs, Accessories & Click on Windows Explorer). Double click to the c:\dj895 directory.
Double-click on the file ' 895-WTS-enu-2kinfu.exe' you downloaded and it will expand showing a 3 letter language directory (For Example, 'ENU' is for English). Also you will see the 'hpsfx' file.
You must now add a printer. Follow the Sequence to 'Add Printer': click on Start and move toSettings and click on Printers.
Double Click on Add Printer.
Select Local or Network printer and click NEXT.
If "Windows was unable to detect any Plug and Play printers", click next.
Select a port (Typically LPT 1) and click NEXT.
Click Have Disk and then Click Browse.
Go to the c:\dj895 directory & double click on the 3 letter language folder(for English it is ENU).
Double click on 'drivers' directory.
Double click on 'Win_2k' directory and select the ' hpf895k.inf' file and click open.
Click OK from the Install From Disk Menu.
Select 'hp deskjet 895c series' and click next.
Name your Printer Accordingly and click next.
Click Next on the Printer Sharing Menu.
Select Yes or No for a Test Page printout and then click next.
Complete Add Printer Wizard by clicking on Finish.
Windows will now install the driver files. Click OK to complete the driver installation.
To Uninstall:
This driver does not come with a Hewlett-Packard built-in uninstaller. To uninstall the driver:
Go to the control panel, printers folder, highlight the printer and select file, delete.

To Install:
Use the Add Printer Wizard to install either a local or networked printer. When you extract this downloaded file, it will create a DJ895/9xinf directory. Run the Add Printer Wizard, choose "Have Disk", and point to the DJ895/9xinf directory. Double-click on the hpdj.inf file.
Once the driver is installed on a server, client PCs can install the driver by simply dragging the printer icon into their Printers folder or by dragging a document onto the printer icon, or by doing an Add Printer, Network printer. If the driver is not already present on the client PC, a copy is automatically installed from the server. Point and Print is supported from a Windows NT 4.0 client to a Windows NT 4.0 server and from a Windows 9x client to a Windows 9x server. Point and Print is not supported from a Windows 9x client to a Windows NT 4.0 server.

Use this utility when:
The USB driver installs part way, then the driver will not install. The Add New Hardware Wizard will not appear or one of the following conditions will occur.
After selecting Finish on the Add New Hardware Wizard during a USB install, the HP Printer Driver Installation screen fails to appear.
Plugging in the USB cable causes the Add New Hardware Wizard to appear on the screen briefly. The USB port driver loads, and the Printer Driver Installation screen fails to appear. There is no interaction required from the user in this scenario.
After printing successfully with the printer installed on the USB port and then uninstalling the printer driver, attempts to reinstall it fail.

Information:
The computer will not recognize the printer a second time (as described above) because during the first installation keys and folders are put into the computer's registry. The uninstaller on the installation CD will not delete these keys and folders that refer to the printer, therefore it appears to the computer that the printer is installed and will not allow it to be installed a second time. These printer entries in the registry need to be deleted. HP has developed an uninstaller utility that will delete all of the unnecessary printer references from the registry.

Instructions for running the USB Uninstall Utility from the Web site:
Unplug the USB cable from either the printer or the computer.
Click the Download Now button. The next screen should have a dot in the button next to "Save this program to disk", if not, select it.
Click OK.
In the Save in field, click the arrow to see the dropdown menu, select Desktop. Make note of the name in the File Name field.
Click Save. The file will be save to the Windows Desktop.
Close the web browser.
When the Desktop appears, double click the xxx.exe file just saved to the Desktop.
In the Unzip to folder field, click the Browse button to see the drop down menu, select Desktop, and click OK.
Click Unzip. A message "2file(s) unzipped successfully" will appear. Click OK
Close the Winzip Self Extractor window.
Find the new HP icon on the Desktop labeled scr_xxx.exe. (xxx will be the model number of the printer.
Double click the HP icon. This will only take seconds.
Click Yes when asked "Do you want to restart your computer now?"
The computer will restart.
The printer may now be reinstalled by carefully following the set up instructions from the setup poster, the manual, or the web.

To Install:
Create a new directory on your hard drive. For this example, we'll say c:\dj895.
Change directory to c:\dj895.
Download the driver to c:\dj895.
Double-click on the exe that you just downloaded. This will extract the files.
You will see a 3-letter language directory. For example, if you downloaded the English driver, you will see a directory enu under c:\dj895.
Before you install this software, the printer's power cord must be plugged in and paper must be loaded. Turn on the printer and insert the print cartridges. Make sure that the Parallel cable is NOT connected!
Click on Start -> Settings -> Printers. Double-click on Add Printer.
Click Next, Choose Printer Port (typically LPTx:), Click Next again.
Click Have Disk, then Browse.
Double-click on the drive where you downloaded the driver files (in the example c:\dj895) and locate the <3 letter language code>\drivers\Win_NT\ directory.
Choose hpf895n.inf, Click Open, Click OK.
Choose the appropriate printer (hp deskjet 895c series), click next.
Choose Replace if a dialog asks you, click Next.
Type a Name for the printer, click Next. Click Next again.
Click Finish.
The location of the driver file will be, for example, C:\dj895\enu\drivers\Win_NT\. Your path may look different from the example, depending on where you saved the downloaded file.
To Uninstall:
This driver does not come with a Hewlett-Packard built-in uninstaller. There are two ways to uninstall the driver:
Go to the control panel, printers folder, highlight the printer and select file, delete.

The HP DeskJet 895 printer driver, version 3.2 supports the HP DeskJet 895Cse and 895Cxi printers for Windows 2000. Please note that the instructions below are for users that will be using a Parallel cable connection from the computer to the printer.
Please note that with this driver version:
Aligning and cleaning print cartridges is only available through the services tab under printing preferences.
There is no installer shell.
There is no bi-directional communication so users will not see status messages.
Printer driver icon shortcuts are not installed on the desktop.
Driver messaging is disabled when the driver is installed on a server with Windows Terminal Services enabled.
Note: For client based installs in a Windows Terminal Server environment, consult your Windows Terminal Server admin for the preferred installation method. You must also run the Uninstaller from the printer driver CD included with your printer before you attempt to install this downloaded file. You must also reboot your computer after uninstalling the old driver. For help uninstalling the driver, locate the document "How to Remove the Printer Software in Windows 95, 98, Me, NT 4.0, and Windows 2000" located on the HP DeskJet 895 support page.

To Install:
Before you download the driver from the web, create the directory on your hard drive: c:\dj895.
Download the driver to c:\dj895.
Using Windows 2000 Explorer (Go to Start, Programs, Accessories & Click on Windows Explorer). Double click to the c:\dj895 directory.
Double-click on the file ' 895-WTS-enu-2kinfu.exe' you downloaded and it will expand showing a 3 letter language directory (For Example, 'ENU' is for English). Also you will see the 'hpsfx' file.
You must now add a printer. Follow the Sequence to 'Add Printer': click on Start and move toSettings and click on Printers.
Double Click on Add Printer.
Select Local or Network printer and click NEXT.
If "Windows was unable to detect any Plug and Play printers", click next.
Select a port (Typically LPT 1) and click NEXT.
Click Have Disk and then Click Browse.
Go to the c:\dj895 directory & double click on the 3 letter language folder(for English it is ENU).
Double click on 'drivers' directory.
Double click on 'Win_2k' directory and select the ' hpf895k.inf' file and click open.
Click OK from the Install From Disk Menu.
Select 'hp deskjet 895c series' and click next.
Name your Printer Accordingly and click next.
Click Next on the Printer Sharing Menu.
Select Yes or No for a Test Page printout and then click next.
Complete Add Printer Wizard by clicking on Finish.
Windows will now install the driver files. Click OK to complete the driver installation.
To Uninstall:
This driver does not come with a Hewlett-Packard built-in uninstaller. To uninstall the driver:
Go to the control panel, printers folder, highlight the printer and select file, delete.

Description: Use this utility when:
The USB driver installs part way, then the driver will not install. The Add New Hardware Wizard will not appear or one of the following conditions will occur.
After selecting Finish on the Add New Hardware Wizard during a USB install, the HP Printer Driver Installation screen fails to appear.
Plugging in the USB cable causes the Add New Hardware Wizard to appear on the screen briefly. The USB port driver loads, and the Printer Driver Installation screen fails to appear. There is no interaction required from the user in this scenario.
After printing successfully with the printer installed on the USB port and then uninstalling the printer driver, attempts to reinstall it fail.
Information:
The computer will not recognize the printer a second time (as described above) because during the first installation keys and folders are put into the computer's registry. The uninstaller on the installation CD will not delete these keys and folders that refer to the printer, therefore it appears to the computer that the printer is installed and will not allow it to be installed a second time. These printer entries in the registry need to be deleted. HP has developed an uninstaller utility that will delete all of the unnecessary printer references from the registry.

Instructions for running the USB Uninstall Utility from the Web site:
Unplug the USB cable from either the printer or the computer.
Click the Download button. The next screen should have a dot in the button next to "Save this program to disk", if not, select it.
Click OK.
In the Save in field, click the arrow to see the dropdown menu, select Desktop. Make note of the name in the File Name field.
Click Save. The file will be save to the Windows Desktop.
Close the web browser.
When the Desktop appears, double click the xxx.exe file just saved to the Desktop.
In the Unzip to folder field, click the Browse button to see the drop down menu, select Desktop, and click OK.
Click Unzip. A message "2file(s) unzipped successfully" will appear. Click OK
Close the Winzip Self Extractor window.
Find the new HP icon on the Desktop labeled scr_xxx.exe. (xxx will be the model number of the printer.
Double click the HP icon. This will only take seconds.
Click Yes when asked "Do you want to restart your computer now?"
The computer will restart.
The printer may now be reinstalled by carefully following the set up instructions from the setup poster, the manual, or the web.

Before you install this software, the printer's power cord must be plugged in and paper must be loaded. Turn on the printer and insert the print cartridges. Make sure that the Parallel cable is NOT connected!
Click on Start -> Settings -> Printers. Double-click on Add Printer.
Click Next, Choose Printer Port (typically LPTx:), Click Next again.

To Install:
Create a new directory on your hard drive. For this example, we'll say c:\dj895.
Change directory to c:\dj895.
Download the driver to c:\dj895.
Double-click on the exe that you just downloaded. This will extract the files.
You will see a 3-letter language directory. For example, if you downloaded the English driver, you will see a directory enu under c:\dj895.
Before you install this software, the printer's power cord must be plugged in and paper must be loaded. Turn on the printer and insert the print cartridges. Make sure that the Parallel cable is NOT connected!
Click on Start -> Settings -> Printers. Double-click on Add Printer.
Click Next, Choose Printer Port (typically LPTx:), Click Next again.
Click Have Disk, then Browse.
Double-click on the drive where you downloaded the driver files (in the example c:\dj895) and locate the <3 letter language code>\drivers\Win_NT\ directory.
Choose hpf895n.inf, Click Open, Click OK.
Choose the appropriate printer (hp deskjet 895c series), click next.
Choose Replace if a dialog asks you, click Next.
Type a Name for the printer, click Next. Click Next again.
Click Finish.
The location of the driver file will be, for example, C:\dj895\enu\drivers\Win_NT\. Your path may look different from the example, depending on where you saved the downloaded file.
To Uninstall:
This driver does not come with a Hewlett-Packard built-in uninstaller. There are two ways to uninstall the driver:
Go to the control panel, printers folder, highlight the printer and select file, delete.

To Install:
Use the Add Printer Wizard to install either a local or networked printer. When you extract this downloaded file, it will create a DJ895/Ntinf directory. Run the Add Printer Wizard, choose "Have Disk", and point to the DJ895/Ntinf directory. Double click on the hpdj.inf file.
Once the driver is installed on a server, client PCs can install the driver by simply dragging the printer icon into their Printers folder or by dragging a document onto the printer icon, or by doing an Add Printer, Network printer. If the driver is not already present on the client PC, a copy is automatically installed from the server. Point and Print is supported from a Windows NT 4.0 client to a Windows NT 4.0 server and from a Windows 9x client to a Windows 9x server. Point and Print is not supported from a Windows 9x client to a Windows NT 4.0 server.

To Install:
Before you download the driver from the web, create the directory on your hard drive: c:\dj895.
Download the driver to c:\dj895.
Using Windows 2000 Explorer (Go to Start, Programs, Accessories & Click on Windows Explorer). Double click to the c:\dj895 directory.
Double-click on the file ' 895-WTS-enu-2kinfu.exe' you downloaded and it will expand showing a 3 letter language directory (For Example, 'ENU' is for English). Also you will see the 'hpsfx' file.
You must now add a printer. Follow the Sequence to 'Add Printer': click on Start and move toSettings and click on Printers.
Double Click on Add Printer.
Select Local or Network printer and click NEXT.
If "Windows was unable to detect any Plug and Play printers", click next.
Select a port (Typically LPT 1) and click NEXT.
Click Have Disk and then Click Browse.
Go to the c:\dj895 directory & double click on the 3 letter language folder(for English it is ENU).
Double click on 'drivers' directory.
Double click on 'Win_2k' directory and select the ' hpf895k.inf' file and click open.
Click OK from the Install From Disk Menu.
Select 'hp deskjet 895c series' and click next.
Name your Printer Accordingly and click next.
Click Next on the Printer Sharing Menu.
Select Yes or No for a Test Page printout and then click next.
Complete Add Printer Wizard by clicking on Finish.
Windows will now install the driver files. Click OK to complete the driver installation.

The USB driver installs part way, then the driver will not install. The Add New Hardware Wizard will not appear or one of the following conditions will occur.
After selecting Finish on the Add New Hardware Wizard during a USB install, the HP Printer Driver Installation screen fails to appear.
Plugging in the USB cable causes the Add New Hardware Wizard to appear on the screen briefly. The USB port driver loads, and the Printer Driver Installation screen fails to appear. There is no interaction required from the user in this scenario.
After printing successfully with the printer installed on the USB port and then uninstalling the printer driver, attempts to reinstall it fail.
Information:
The computer will not recognize the printer a second time (as described above) because during the first installation keys and folders are put into the computer's registry. The uninstaller on the installation CD will not delete these keys and folders that refer to the printer, therefore it appears to the computer that the printer is installed and will not allow it to be installed a second time. These printer entries in the registry need to be deleted. HP has developed an uninstaller utility that will delete all of the unnecessary printer references from the registry.

Instructions for running the USB Uninstall Utility from the Web site:
Unplug the USB cable from either the printer or the computer.
Click the Download button. The next screen should have a dot in the button next to "Save this program to disk", if not, select it.
Click OK.
In the Save in field, click the arrow to see the dropdown menu, select Desktop. Make note of the name in the File Name field.
Click Save. The file will be save to the Windows Desktop.
Close the web browser.
When the Desktop appears, double click the xxx.exe file just saved to the Desktop.
In the Unzip to folder field, click the Browse button to see the drop down menu, select Desktop, and click OK.
Click Unzip. A message "2file(s) unzipped successfully" will appear. Click OK
Close the Winzip Self Extractor window.
Find the new HP icon on the Desktop labeled scr_xxx.exe. (xxx will be the model number of the printer.
Double click the HP icon. This will only take seconds.
Click Yes when asked "Do you want to restart your computer now?"
The computer will restart.
The printer may now be reinstalled by carefully following the set up instructions from the setup poster, the manual, or the web.

Aligning and cleaning print cartridges is only available through the services tab under printing preferences.
There is no installer shell.

Printer driver icon shortcuts are not installed on the desktop.
Driver messaging is disabled when the driver is installed on a server with Windows Terminal Services enabled.
Note: For client based installs in a Windows Terminal Server environment, consult your Windows Terminal Server admin for the preferred installation method. You must also run the Uninstaller from the printer driver CD included with your printer before you attempt to install this downloaded file. You must also reboot your computer after uninstalling the old driver. To Install:
Before you download the driver from the web, create the directory on your hard drive: c:\dj895.
Download the driver to c:\dj895.
Using Windows 2000 Explorer (Go to Start, Programs, Accessories & Click on Windows Explorer). Double click to the c:\dj895 directory.
Double-click on the file ' 895-WTS-enu-2kinfu.exe' you downloaded and it will expand showing a 3 letter language directory (For Example, 'ENU' is for English). Also you will see the 'hpsfx' file.
You must now add a printer. Follow the Sequence to 'Add Printer': click on Start and move toSettings and click on Printers.
Double Click on Add Printer.
Select Local or Network printer and click NEXT.
If "Windows was unable to detect any Plug and Play printers", click next.
Select a port (Typically LPT 1) and click NEXT.
Click Have Disk and then Click Browse.
Go to the c:\dj895 directory & double click on the 3 letter language folder(for English it is ENU).
Double click on 'drivers' directory.
Double click on 'Win_2k' directory and select the ' hpf895k.inf' file and click open.
Click OK from the Install From Disk Menu.
Select 'hp deskjet 895c series' and click next.
Name your Printer Accordingly and click next.
Click Next on the Printer Sharing Menu.
Select Yes or No for a Test Page printout and then click next.
Complete Add Printer Wizard by clicking on Finish.
Windows will now install the driver files. Click OK to complete the driver installation.
To Uninstall:
This driver does not come with a Hewlett-Packard built-in uninstaller. To uninstall the driver:
Go to the control panel, printers folder, highlight the printer and select file, delete.

You will see a 3-letter language directory. For example, if you downloaded the English driver, you will see a directory enu under c:\dj895.
Before you install this software, the printer's power cord must be plugged in and paper must be loaded. Turn on the printer and insert the print cartridges. Make sure that the Parallel cable is NOT connected!
Click on Start -> Settings -> Printers. Double-click on Add Printer.
Click Next, Choose Printer Port (typically LPTx:), Click Next again.
Click Have Disk, then Browse.
Double-click on the drive where you downloaded the driver files (in the example c:\dj895) and locate the <3 letter language code>\drivers\Win_NT\ directory.
Choose hpf895n.inf, Click Open, Click OK.
Choose the appropriate printer (hp deskjet 895c series), click next.
Choose Replace if a dialog asks you, click Next.
Type a Name for the printer, click Next. Click Next again.
Click Finish.
The location of the driver file will be, for example, C:\dj895\enu\drivers\Win_NT\. Your path may look different from the example, depending on where you saved the downloaded file.

Description: Use this utility when:
The USB driver installs part way, then the driver will not install. The Add New Hardware Wizard will not appear or one of the following conditions will occur.
After selecting Finish on the Add New Hardware Wizard during a USB install, the HP Printer Driver Installation screen fails to appear.
Plugging in the USB cable causes the Add New Hardware Wizard to appear on the screen briefly. The USB port driver loads, and the Printer Driver Installation screen fails to appear. There is no interaction required from the user in this scenario.
After printing successfully with the printer installed on the USB port and then uninstalling the printer driver, attempts to reinstall it fail.
Information:
The computer will not recognize the printer a second time (as described above) because during the first installation keys and folders are put into the computer's registry. The uninstaller on the installation CD will not delete these keys and folders that refer to the printer, therefore it appears to the computer that the printer is installed and will not allow it to be installed a second time. These printer entries in the registry need to be deleted. HP has developed an uninstaller utility that will delete all of the unnecessary printer references from the registry.

Instructions for running the USB Uninstall Utility from the Web site:
Unplug the USB cable from either the printer or the computer.
Click the Download button. The next screen should have a dot in the button next to "Save this program to disk", if not, select it.
Click OK.
In the Save in field, click the arrow to see the dropdown menu, select Desktop. Make note of the name in the File Name field.
Click Save. The file will be save to the Windows Desktop.
Close the web browser.
When the Desktop appears, double click the xxx.exe file just saved to the Desktop.
In the Unzip to folder field, click the Browse button to see the drop down menu, select Desktop, and click OK.
Click Unzip. A message "2file(s) unzipped successfully" will appear. Click OK
Close the Winzip Self Extractor window.
Find the new HP icon on the Desktop labeled scr_xxx.exe. (xxx will be the model number of the printer.
Double click the HP icon. This will only take seconds.
Click Yes when asked "Do you want to restart your computer now?"
The computer will restart.
The printer may now be reinstalled by carefully following the set up instructions from the setup poster, the manual, or the web.

To Install:
Use the Add Printer Wizard to install either a local or networked printer. When you extract this downloaded file, it will create a DJ895/Ntinf directory. Run the Add Printer Wizard, choose "Have Disk", and point to the DJ895/Ntinf directory. Double click on the hpdj.inf file.
