It is for use with Mac OS X v.10.1.5, v.10.2.x, v.10.3 and OS X v.10.4, although HP recommends that you update to the latest version of Mac OS X. The downloadable file includes a driver installer, which also installs the newest deskjet printer utility.
This driver improves printer connection reliability and stability, as well as print speed and print output improvements. It is recommended that you delete the existing printer (print queue) from the Print Center prior to installing this driver. It is also recommended that you quit open applications before installing this driver.
Download the driver.
Mount the disk image by double clicking on it.
Launch the OS X HP Inkjet Installer program, and follow the on-screen instructions

This utility supports the deskjet control panel (DJCP) for the deskjet 1220C series printer. Many software manufacturers may not develop printer drivers for their software programs, and thus this utility may allow you access to certain useful features when using DOS. The DJCP utility allows you to do the following:
Adjust print settings
Specify the default printer setting for printing from your DOS program
Note: HP DeskJet Control Panel does not support printing of special features.
Installation instructions:
Before you install the Control Panel, make sure you have setup your printer and that the printer is turned on.
Download the utility into a temporary locaiton on your hard drive.
At the DOS prompt C:\>, and change to the directory containing the utility.
Type INSTALL and press ENTER.
Follow the instructions on your computer screen to complete installation.
Using the HP DJCP utility for DOS
To open the DeskJet Control Panel, at the DOS prompt, change your directory to C:\DJ1220C, type DJCP and press ENTER.
Use the Control Panel to select print settings that may not be available from some DOS programs.

Description
This utility supports the deskjet control panel (DJCP) for the deskjet 1220C series printer. Many software manufacturers may not develop printer drivers for their software programs, and thus this utility may allow you access to certain useful features when using DOS. The DJCP utility allows you to do the following:
Adjust print settings
Specify the default printer setting for printing from your DOS program
Note: HP DeskJet Control Panel does not support printing of special features.
Installation instructions:
Before you install the Control Panel, make sure you have setup your printer and that the printer is turned on.
Download the utility into a temporary locaiton on your hard drive.
At the DOS prompt C:\>, and change to the directory containing the utility.
Type INSTALL and press ENTER.
Follow the instructions on your computer screen to complete installation.
Using the HP DJCP utility for DOS
To open the DeskJet Control Panel, at the DOS prompt, change your directory to C:\DJ1220C, type DJCP and press ENTER.
Use the Control Panel to select print settings that may not be available from some DOS programs.
Note: Duplicate print settings that are selected from a DOS software program may override print settings selected in the Control Panel.
The Control Panel also allows you to clean and align the print cartridges for best print quality.

USB printers via Apple's USB Printer Sharing control panel (Mac OS 9 or higher)
EtherTalk through a JetDirect box deskjet printer
USB connectivity requires Mac OS 8.5.1 or higher, 32 MB of RAM and a minimum of 8 MB hard disk space. Ethertalk networking requires Mac OS 7.6.1 or higher and 16 MB of RAM.
Installation instructions:
Download the .HQX file to your desktop. Double-click to expand. Double-click on expanded file, named "HP deskjet Installer", to begin installation.

This utility supports the deskjet control panel (DJCP) for the deskjet 1220C series printer. Many software manufacturers may not develop printer drivers for their software programs, and thus this utility may allow you access to certain useful features when using DOS. The DJCP utility allows you to do the following:
Adjust print settings
Specify the default printer setting for printing from your DOS program
Note: HP DeskJet Control Panel does not support printing of special features.
Installation instructions:
Before you install the Control Panel, make sure you have setup your printer and that the printer is turned on.
Download the utility into a temporary locaiton on your hard drive.
At the DOS prompt C:\>, and change to the directory containing the utility.

Description
This utility supports the deskjet control panel (DJCP) for the deskjet 1220C series printer. Many software manufacturers may not develop printer drivers for their software programs, and thus this utility may allow you access to certain useful features when using DOS. The DJCP utility allows you to do the following:
Adjust print settings
Specify the default printer setting for printing from your DOS program
Note: HP DeskJet Control Panel does not support printing of special features.
Installation instructions:
Before you install the Control Panel, make sure you have setup your printer and that the printer is turned on.
Download the utility into a temporary locaiton on your hard drive.
At the DOS prompt C:\>, and change to the directory containing the utility.
Type INSTALL and press ENTER.
Follow the instructions on your computer screen to complete installation.
Using the HP DJCP utility for DOS
To open the DeskJet Control Panel, at the DOS prompt, change your directory to C:\DJ1220C, type DJCP and press ENTER.
Use the Control Panel to select print settings that may not be available from some DOS programs.
Note: Duplicate print settings that are selected from a DOS software program may override print settings selected in the Control Panel.
The Control Panel also allows you to clean and align the print cartridges for best print quality.

Description
This utility supports the deskjet control panel (DJCP) for the deskjet 1220C series printer. Many software manufacturers may not develop printer drivers for their software programs, and thus this utility may allow you access to certain useful features when using DOS. The DJCP utility allows you to do the following:
Adjust print settings
Specify the default printer setting for printing from your DOS program
Note: HP DeskJet Control Panel does not support printing of special features.
Installation instructions:
Before you install the Control Panel, make sure you have setup your printer and that the printer is turned on.
Download the utility into a temporary locaiton on your hard drive.
At the DOS prompt C:\>, and change to the directory containing the utility.
Type INSTALL and press ENTER.
Follow the instructions on your computer screen to complete installation.
Using the HP DJCP utility for DOS
To open the DeskJet Control Panel, at the DOS prompt, change your directory to C:\DJ1220C, type DJCP and press ENTER.
Use the Control Panel to select print settings that may not be available from some DOS programs.
Note: Duplicate print settings that are selected from a DOS software program may override print settings selected in the Control Panel.
The Control Panel also allows you to clean and align the print cartridges for best print quality.

This utility supports the deskjet control panel (DJCP) for the deskjet 1220C series printer. Many software manufacturers may not develop printer drivers for their software programs, and thus this utility may allow you access to certain useful features when using DOS. The DJCP utility allows you to do the following:
Adjust print settings
