WebAdmin(TM)
WebAdmin allows you to manage your printer remotely using any World Wide
Web browser. For more details on WebAdmin, please refer to the Elite XL
Networking Guide located on the Elite XL Software and Documentation
CD-ROM.
NetWare(R) NEST(TM) (Elite XL 616, 808, 1208, 1208S)
NEST (Novell(R) Embedded Systems Technology) provides the ability to
print in a NetWare environment using NetWare (IPX/SPX) network
protocols. Please see the Elite XL Networking Guide located on the Elite
XL Software and Documentation CD-ROM for complete information about
printing with NEST.
TCP/IP now standard
A TCP/IP network protocol stack now comes standard with the Elite XL.
Please see the Elite XL Networking Guide located on the Elite XL
Software and Documentation CD-ROM for complete information about
printing with TCP/IP. Please note: Use of TCP/IP requires that the
Elite XL be equipped with an Ethernet interface.
12x21 paper size (Elite XL 1208S)
The Elite XL 1208S now supports a new paper size, 12x21, which has
dimensions of up to 12 x 21 inches (304.8 x 533.4 mm), with a printable
area of 11.69 x 20 inches (297 x 508 mm). This allows full-bleed
printing of 11 x 17 inch spreads on oversize paper or polyester plates,
with more space for registration marks and page labels.
12x20 paper size
The Elite XL 608, 616, 808, 1208, and 1208S now support a new paper
size, 12x20, which has dimensions of up to 11.69 x 20 inches (297 x 508
mm), with a printable area of 11.69 x 19.29 inches (297 x 490 mm). This
allows full-bleed printing of 11 x 17 inch spreads, with more space for
registration marks and page labels.
Super B paper size
The Elite XL 608, 616, 808, 1208, and 1208S now support a new paper
size, Super B, which has dimensions of 11.69 x 17.32 inches (297 x 440
mm), and provides edge-to-edge printing. This allows full-bleed printing
of 11 x 17 inch spreads.
Oversize paper support determination
The paper support information listed in the above three items applies to
current shipments of Elite XL printers with the current version of
firmware. Depending on when your printer was manufactured, it may
support fewer or more sizes than listed above. In order to unambiguously
determine which sizes your printer supports, use the Elite XL front
panel Printer Info menu or print a Configuration Page to check your
printer's OS Version and HW Version. The HW Version should contain the
letters "FX", followed by a letter ("N" for Elite XL 608, 808, 1208 and
1208S, or "H" for Elite XL 616), followed by a single digit. Note the
digit's value and refer to the following rules:
+ If the OS version is 2.9 or later and the digit is 4, your printer
supports 12x21.
+ If the OS version is 2.8 or later and the digit is 3 or 4, your
printer supports 12x20.
+ If the OS version is 2.7 or later and the digit is 2, 3, or 4, your
printer supports Super B.
+ If the OS version is 2.6 or earlier or the digit is 1, your printer
does not support any of the above sizes.
+ If the letters "FX" are followed by a character other than "N" or
"H", call GCC Technical Support if you wish to determine your printer's
oversize paper support.
Do not try to use a paper size which your printer does not support, even
if the size is listed in the Page Setup or Print Setup dialog box.
Otherwise, your job may not print, images may be incomplete, and the
paper may jam.
