JPOS Thermal Receipt Printer Driver Installation
and User Guide
Foreword
The purpose of this manual is to explain how to install and use JPOS Thermal Receipt
Printer driver. This driver supports windows 98/2000/XP and Linux.
About the Product
This is JPOS Thermal Receipt Printer driver from CBM Corporation. This printer driver
can work with all the major platforms such as window 98/2000/XP, Linux etc. This printer driver
supports receipt printing only.
This printer driver has support for CBM Corporation’s Receipt Thermal Printers and Cash Drawers
as listed below
• CBM-S300
• CBM-1000II
Installation
Pre-Installation Instructions
• Please make sure that all other programs are closed during installation.
• Please make sure that no other program selects the port, which you have chosen for
connecting the printer interface.
• Please make sure the Java runtime environment is installed on your system and the
JAVA_HOME environment property is set to the Java runtime environment
installation folder.

The following describes how the product interfaces to the surrounding world.
System Requirements
The installation of the driver will require a PC with the specific OS installed
of which you are installing the JPOS Thermal Receipt Printer driver from
CBM Corporation.
Hardware Requirements
The interface between the printer and the computer can be all major ports
e.g. Parallel (LPT Port), RS-232 Serial (COM Port), USB.
For windows platform:
The current version of JPOS Thermal Receipt Printer driver supports
parallel communication (LPT Port) and Serial communication (COM port)
and USB.
For Linux platform:
The current version of JPOS Thermal Receipt Printer driver supports
parallel communication (LPT Port) and Serial communication (COM port)
and USB.
Software Requirements
The software interface shall follow the current standard for controlling and
operating the Thermal Receipt Printers under the OS.

Observations
Instructions to create and register custom message for LCD
This software is to create and register the custom messages for LCD of CT-S801 and CT-S851.
The outline of the procedure is as follows.
A. Choose language
B. Choose message to edit
C. Enter message
D. Save the message data and register them to printer.
Details of procedure are described below.
1. Run the software
Run the software. The screen at the start is as below.
“Default image” is the original message shown on the LCD.
2. Choose the language
Choose the language to use by pressing “Lang” button. Applicable languages are English, Japanese, French, Spanish, Italian or Chinese.
3. Choose the message to edit
Choose the message to edit by pressing "??" or "??" button.
There are 19 messages that allow to be replaced by custom message.
Remarks:
8 & 9 are same message. “8” is for cover open at stand-by. “9” is for cover open during printing.
“Lines” means the number of message lines shown in the LCD. It cannot be changed.
“Scroll” means that long message is shown as animation by scrolling horizontally on this software.
4. Enter the message data
By pressing Edt button, “Edit image” screen comes up.
By removing check mark from “Use default image”, you can enter the message in Line 1 (or Line 2 also depending on the message) and press”OK” button when finished. Entered data is shown at “Customized Image”.
Remarks:
Data length to enter is max 32 digits.
The data exceeding this length is ignored.
The message shown in gray background area is shown by horizontal scrolling.
It is recommended to keep last digit as space so that message can be separated at end/next start.
If you want to delete all the entered data, press left-most icon and if you see ”Do you want to delete customized images?”, press “OK” button.
5. Save the created data
When you finish entering the custom messages, it is recommended to save the entered data. (This is not essential job to do)
From menu,”File”=>”Save As” then you see “Save As” dialog. Enter file name and press “Save” button.
To use saved messages in the next time, from menu, ”File”=>”Open” and you will see “Open” dialog. Choose the saved file and press “Open” button. Then saved messages can be seen at each message number.
6. Register created data to printer
There are 2 ways to register created data to the printer.
1) Register to the printer directly through Windows driver
From menu, “File”=>”Send to Printer”=>”Sending all images” then “Print Setup” dialog comes up. If the Windows driver for the printer is ready to print, choose the printer and press “OK” button. Then all the messages are registered to the printer.
Following the same procedure from “File”=>”Send to Printer”=>”Sending this images”, single message shown on the software is registered to the printer.
2) Create the data to register the messages
From menu, “File”=>”Create command file”=>”Registering all images”, then “Save As” dialog comes up. Enter file name and press “Save” button.
If you send the saved data to the printer, all the messages are registered to the printer.
Following the same procedure from “File”=>”Create command file”=>”Registering this image”, the data to register message is created.
7. Delete the registered data
There are 2 ways to delete the registered data from the printer.
1) Delete the registered messages directly from the printer through Windows driver
From menu, “File”=>”Send to Printer”=>”Deleting all images” then “Print Setup” dialog comes up. If the Windows driver is ready to print to the printer choose the printer and press”OK” button. Then all the registered messages to the printer are deleted.

Following the same procedure from File”=>”Send to Printer”=>”Deleting this images”, single message shown on the software is deleted from the printer.
2) Create the data to delete the messages from the printer
From menu, “File”=>”Create command file”=>”Deleting all images” then “Save As” dialog comes up. Enter file name and press “Save” button.
If you send the saved data to the printer, all the messages registered to the printer are deleted.
Following the same procedure from File”=>”Create command file”=>”Deleting this image”, the data to delete the message on the screen is created.
8. Others (Menus and buttons not described above)
Same function of all icon buttons are assigned to menu items. The icons not covered by above explanation is standard one and easy to understand.
In the menu, followings may not be easily understandable.
”View”=>”Back screen ON” (or OFF)
This menu sets either to show/not to show the long messages exceeding the display area.
”View”=>”Start animation” (or Stop animation)
This menu sets to show the long message in either moving it or not moving it.
