Upgradeprocedure voor uw voip-apparaat

1. Log in op de webpagina van uw apparaat met het super-password 19750407
2. Klik onderaan de webpagina op 'Upgrade Firmware'
3. Klik op de knop 'Bladeren' naast 'Firmware File Name'
4. Kies het upgrade bestand. Bijvoorbeeld vpad01_sip_us_123002.bin
(opmerking: standaard wordt uw apparaat geleverd met SIP firmware.)
5. Klik op de knop 'Update Firmware' om te starten.

De update kan ca. 5 minuten duren, gedurende deze tijd is uw apparaat niet
benaderbaar. Onderbreek de upgrade niet en sluit uw webbrowser niet af!

Nadat het bestand in de adapter is gezet, zal de webpagina veranderen, en
een boodschap tonen dat de upgrade geslaagd if mislukt is.

Hierna wordt de firmware worden gecontroleerd door de adapter. Dit kunt u
zien aan het apparaat, de ledjes zullen knipperen ter indicatie. Dit
duurt ca. 2 minuten, gedurende welke u het apparaat NIET mag uitschakelen!

Als de ledjes weer normale activiteit vertonen / de lcd display 'ready for calls'
toont, dan is het apparaat opnieuw gestart. Hierna kunt u via de webpagina controleren
of de upgrade geslaagd is. (het versienummer wordt getoond in de titelbalk.)

Upgradeprocedure for your voip-device

1. Log in to the webpage of your device, using the super-password 19750407
2. Click the 'upgrade firmware' button on the bottom of the page
3. Click the 'Browse' button next to the 'Firmware File Name' field.
4. Select the upgrade file. For example, vpad01_sip_us_123002.bin
(Note: The standard firmware is SIP firmware.)
5. Click the 'Update Firmware' button to start the upgrade.

Updating your device can take up to 5 minutes during which the device is not
reachable. Do not interrupt the upgrade, or close your browser!

After the file has been uploaded to the device, the webpage will change to
indicate success or failure.

The device will then check the file. This is indicated by blinking leds on
the adapter/status bar in the LCD. DO NOT POWER OFF the device during this period!

Once the file is checked ok, the leds will stop blinking, and the device
will boot normally. To check the update, please see the version number shown
in your browser's title bar. It should match the new firmware.

Troubleshooting
1. If you cannot receive incoming calls: Some networks require you to forward the used ports
when you are behind NAT. In such a case, the simplest solution is to put the phone in the
DMZ of the modem/router. Usually this will require you to enter the ip-address on the
webpage of your router.
2. If you are unable to place calls, please check your settings. (The most commonly made
mistake is a forgotten checkmark in the ‘use service’ checkbox.)

Quick installation (CD-rom)
Using the E-Tech VPPH01 you can place calls using the free* voice-over-ip technology. This
solution is ideal for businesses with daughter-companies, or for calling friends and relatives. To
start, connect the power using the supplied adapter, and use a UTP cable to connect it to your
network. Turn on the switch on the back of the unit, and check if the text, ‘booting’ appears on
screen. After the adapter is connected, you can place the CD-rom in the CD-rom drive of your
computer. Follow the instructions on your screen to pass the installation process. (You will need
the account information of your SIP-account during this installation process).
Advanced Installation procedure (webpage)
In this guide we area assuming you connect the VPPH01 to an existing network that is running a
DHCP-server. Upon powering on the unit, it will ask for an ip-address using the DHCP protocol.
To find out the address, press the ‘Local IP’ button on the phone. It will be shown on screen,
and spoken by a computerized voice. In our example we will be using the address
192.168.1.104.
Open a new internet-explorer, and enter http:// + the address (see screenshot)
After a few seconds the login screen of your phone will appear.
To login, enter the super-password: 19750407 and click the ‘Login’ button.
A webpage will appear where you can configure the phone’s settings.
This phone supports several VoIP protocols, in this guide we will be using the most common
protocol, SIP.
When using SIP, the phone will register itself with a central SIP server, after which calls can be
placed to other registered phones. If the provider offers a link with the main phone network, it
will also be possible to dail to ‘normal’ phonenumbers.
On the following pages we will setup some example providers. Usually, the provider offers a
way of buying ‘credits’ that can be used to call to ‘normal’ phone numbers. Calls that stay within
the provider’s network are usually free, as are calls to toll-free numbers. (depending on provider)

Setting up for other providers
This unit can be used with many other VoIP providers. The setup procedure is similar to the
configuration that is shown for FWD. Usually, you will need to sign up on a webpage, and are
assigned a username/phone number and password. A SIP-server address is also required, and
usually shown during registration. (This is what needs to be entered in the ‘service addr’ and
‘service id’ fields)
Some providers use different ports for signaling and audio. The standard ports are 5060 / 6800.
If a provider uses different ports, this will be shown during registration on their webpage. These
values need to be changed in the fields ‘register port’ , ‘signal port’ and ‘control port’
