For E-200 users
Please pay attention carefully, when you use your E-200.
Using the backup/restore function of ActiveSync 3.5 to backup/restore information in services created in Inbox will not restore the information properly.
To repair the information in services, you can run "Inbox Repair Tool"
immediately after restoring ActiveSync.
This program is supported by the CASSIOPEIA model noted below only. Operation is not supported for other models.

A. Before backing up ActiveSync

You must first install "Inbox Repair Tool" following the installation procedures below before you back up ActiveSync.



Note!

If you back up ActiveSync without installing "Inbox Repair Tool", you need to install and run "Inbox Repair Tool" immediately after restoring ActiveSync and resetting CASSIOPEIA (following the procedure C-2).





B. How to install CASIO Inbox Repair Tool

1. Reset CASSIOPEIA.
2. Connect CASSIOPEIA to your PC.
3. Select Inbox Repair Tool from [Software List] menu, click [Install] button.
4. Follow the messages displayed on the screen.
C. How to use Inbox Repair Tool

1. Restore ActiveSync.
2. Reset CASSIOPEIA.
3. Remove CASSIOPEIA from the cradle.
4. Tap [Start]-[Programs]-[Utilities], then click Inbox Repair Tool icon to start the application.
5. Follow the instructions on the screen and tap [OK].
6. This resets CASSIOPEIA automatically and restores the information in services in Inbox.



Note!

Some part of the data may not be restored properly when you restore with CASIO Card Backup Tool. You are kindly requested to not to use the application, Card Backup Tool.
When you would like to backup/restore, use the function of backup/restore of Microsoft Active Sync® and CASIO Inbox Repair Tool.

Enhancements and New Features

Fixes

1. Pocket Internet Explorer stops responding when attempting to view some secured Web sites.
2. PPP LCP renegotiation request causes unexpected disconnect.
3. PocketWord and Notes stops responding after tapping ENTER at the end of a very long string that has no spaces.
4. Pocket Outlook Object Model (POOM): adding recipients doesn't flag appointment as meeting.
5. Unable to use Microsoft(R)Server ActiveSync(R)with user name containing extended characters.





Installing the Pocket PC 2002 Update Pack

This is designed to supplement previous updates. This update fully covers the contents of Update Pack 1.10 and 2.00 released before. This update is permanently installed into the ROM of your Pocket PC 2002.
1. If there is data you want to save, be sure you save it before performing installation. In the case of PIM data, first save the data using the ActiveSync synchronization function. Create copies of other files using ActiveSync Explorer. Do not use the ActiveSync backup/restore functions to backup and restore the data.
2. Check to make sure your Pocket PC 2002 has enough program memory. See "Update Tips" for more information. See the manual that comes with your Pocket PC 2002 for information about free up memory.
Note that this memory requirement is for installation only. Memory is available for use again after installation is complete.
3. Shut down all currently running applications. See the user documentation that comes with the Pocket PC 2002 for details.
4. Be sure to use your Pocket PC 2002 AC adaptor to power it during the update operation.



Use the following procedure to install this driver on your Pocket PC.

1. Before downloading the update file, connect your Pocket PC to your computer.
2. On your computer, double-click "Setup.exe" and then follow the instructions that appear on your screen.



Important!

1. Do not enable the device password feature during the update process.
2. Do not turn off or reset your Pocket PC while the update operation is in progress.
3. Any data you back up using the backup/restore function of ActiveSync before installing the update cannot be restored to your Pocket PC 2002 after installation of the update is complete.



Update Tips

1. The update file size is approximately 12MB. If your Pocket PC 2002 does not have enough storage memory, an error will occur when your try to copy the file to the Pocket PC. If this happens, adjust memory allocation or temporarily delete some non-vital files from storage memory.
2. During the update process, a dialog box appears showing that the process will take about two minutes. The update process actually takes about 10 minutes.
3. This update does not delete the saved data and the softwares already installed before such as:

Checking and Allocating Memory

Use the following procedure to check the amount of memory currently available, and to adjust memory allocation.
1. ITap [Start], and then [Settings].
2. On the dialog box that appears, tap the [System] tab.
3. Tap the [Memory] icon.
The dialog box that appears shows how much memory is currently available.
4. Drag the slider to adjust memory allocation.

About E-200 Protection Enhancement Pack 1.0

E-200 Protection Enhancement Pack 1.00 (Protection Enhancement Pack) strengthens protection of the flash memory area against improper access due to software operational errors and other causes. Be sure to install this software on your CASSIOPEIA to ensure proper operation.



Important!

We recommend that you install this Protection Enhancement Pack along with Pocket PC 2002 Update Pack 1.10 (Update Pack). If you already have Update Pack 1.00 installed, there is no need to re-install it. Note that the enhanced protection provided by installing this Protection Enhancement Pack makes it impossible to install Update Pack 1.00. Because of this, you should download the latest version of Update Pack from the CASIO Website. Installing this Protection Enhancement Pack also provides the same update as Pocket PC 2002 Update File Version 1.01 (Update File). Install this Protection Enhancement Pack as-is, even if you already have Update File 1.01 already installed. Do not install Pocket PC 2002 Update File Version 1.01 separately after installing this Protection Enhancement Pack. Doing so will cause improper operation of the Protection Enhancement Pack.





Installing Protection Enhancement Pack

Note that installing Protection Enhancement Pack writes data into flash memory. Once installed, it cannot be uninstalled. Installation does not affect data currently stored in memory.
1. Download E-200 Protection Enhancement Pack 1.0 to your PC.
2. At this point, we recommend that you make a backup copy of the software.
3. Set up your Pocket PC so it is being powered by the AC adapter.
4. Use ActiveSync to establish a connection between your Pocket PC and PC.
5. Open Microsoft ActiveSync, and click the Explore button.
6. On your PC, copy the downloaded file named E200PEP.cab to the Mobile Device window.
7. On your Pocket PC, open File Explorer (Start > Programs > File Explorer).
8. In File Explorer, tap E200PEP.CAB.
This automatically starts installation. Follow the instructions that appear on the display during installation.



Important!

Never turn off power, press the reset button, or do anything else that interrupts system operation while installation is in progress. Doing so can cause improper operation and even damage your Pocket PC.

Installing this program

Make sure you have ActiveSync installed on your PC before performing the following procedure.

1. Connect your PocketPC to your PC.
2. Double-click Setup.exe, and then follow the instructions that appear on your computer screen.
3. After installation is complete, press the PocketPC reset button to reset it. This program will not function until you reset your PocketPC.
* Note that you need to re-install the program whenever you initialize PocketPC memory. Re-installation is not required when you reset your PocketPC by pressing the reset button.
