Procedure to create custom icons for the MacOS 8.6-9.2 MSC driver:
1. Download iconographer 2.4 or later at http://www.mscape.com/products/iconographer.html
2. Using the FILE MENU, Choose OPEN ICON
3. Choose the 'mscicons' file in the system folder:preferences. It is a ResEdit resource file that contains the family of default icons.
4. A screen appears that shows the entire family of icons in the file. There should be 4 numbered with ID's 0,1,2,3.
5. Expand the "members" floating window to exposure all icons in the family.
6. Double click on any family icon member to edit it.
7. When finished editing all icons, select FILE MENU -> SAVE AS
8. Icon Format: Mac OS New (Resources) should be selected as the icon format in the dialog's pop-up menu.
9. Click 'save' to save over the existing name.
Notes: The icons for each LUN are stored in the 'mscicons' file in the system folder:preferences root. The icons have resource ID's 0,1,2,3 respectively, which represents the LUN on the storage device for which the icon will be retrieved. This is the file that should be edited by Iconographer.

Installation Instructions:
______________________________________
1. Plug the USB97C210 device into a free USB 1.1 or 2.0 port on the host.
2. Windows 2000 will automatically load it's own mass storage class driver. Once the device has been enumerated, you will only see 1 icon is Windows Explorer. This is because the Windows 2000 native mass storage class driver does not provide support for multiple LUN devices like the USB97C210.
3. Go to the Device Manager and expand the "Universal Serial Bus Controllers" branch by clicking the "+" sign to the left of it.
4. Look for an entry under Universal Serial Bus Controllers called "USB Mass Storage Device". Caution: If you have a USB hard drive, USB floppy drive or some other USB mass storage class device attached to your system,
you will see more than one "USB Mass Storage Device" entry. If possible,
you should unplug these devices to avoid any confusion.
5. Once you have identified the USB Mass Storage Device entry for the USB97C210 device, double click it to bring up the "Driver Properties" dialog.
6. Click the "Driver" tab at the top, and then click the "Update Driver" button. This will start the "Upgrade Device Driver" wizard.
7. Follow the Update Device Driver wizard, and when asked for the location of the driver, select the "Specify Location" check box and click "Next".
8. Browse to the location of the USB97C210 Windows 2000 installation files, select "OK" and then keep clicking the "Next" button until you get to the "Finish" dialog. Press "Finish" to complete the installation.
9. You can now go to Windows Explorer, and you should see one drive icon for each supported flash media type.
Architecture and Capabilities:
______________________________________
