1. GETTING STARTED

1.1 Installation

If the Synaptics TouchPad is built into your computer,
the necessary drivers should already be loaded and
ready to use.

If you are adding this device to your system, upgrading
to a newer driver version, or restoring your original
configuration, see the installation instructions later
in this document.

1.2 Using the Synaptics TouchPad

To move the cursor, place the finger lightly on the
sensor pad and move in the desired direction. If you
reach the end of the pad, lift your finger and place it
back down on the other side of the pad. If you find
yourself doing this too often, configure the driver to
increase the horizontal and vertical sensitivity.

In most computers, the TouchPad has two buttons which
work just like left and right mouse buttons. You can
also tap on the pad to simulate a left button click. A
light, quick tap works best.

To simulate holding the mouse button down ("dragging"
an icon or selection), use the tap-and-drag gesture.
This feels much like a double-click, except that the
finger remains on the pad after the second tap: Tap,
lift, tap, hold and move. The simulated button remains
held as long as the finger remains on the pad.

0) What's New in this version

This version has been enhanced from 1.06:

1) It can be installed from hard disk, CD-ROM drive and floppy drive.
2) IRQ of Windows sound system was set to 7 from 11.
3) "WIN31" and "WINAPP" in the section, [CUSTOM], of DISK1 file and
INSTALL.DAT will determine whether SNDINIT.EXE to copy Windows 3.1
drivers and modify the user message or not.
4) Allow to custom setting from SND16DRV.INI. This file has to be
compressed into WINAPP.ZIP.

4) SND930.DRV has been updated to solve the pop noise problem when
user adjust the master volume control.
5) V930D.386 will set "SingleModeDMA" to be "No" as the default.
NOTE:
Copy contents under \disk1 to a single diskette and start
installation.

1) Introduction

This package contains the above version of Software release for
OPTi 82C930 Audio Device. This software contains a full fledge
INSTALLER plus Testing and Configuration program all contained
within a Windows Look-a-Like GUI.

What the INSTALLER will do for you:
a) Gather installation info. from you as to which drive and directory
this software should be installed.
b) Check available memory and disk space (warns if not sufficient).
c) Gather and detect correct Windows directory.
d) Copies files to your hard disk.
e) Prompts you if you have a CD-ROM attached to your MAD16 Pro.
If Yes: - Asks you for the CD-ROM type you have.
- Assigns the correct CD-ROM driver for your drive.
- Checks and installs correct MSCDEX.EXE to work with
your drive depending on DOS version.
f) Shows Configuration and Test panel for you to setup and test your
Sound Card. You may perform 8-bit, 16-bit, and FM Synthesis test.
You may also change your volume settings.

WINDOWS DRIVERS

1. Fixed a General Protection Fault in CorelPaint 5.0 when
KAI's PowerTool Filter 2.0 is run using the 16M color (24bpp)
driver.

2. Fixed an error in the Fatal Error exit code which was
causing a stack imbalance.

3. Fixed a "Not Enough Memory" error in PaintBrush by adding
an option that disables the Fatline & Polygon driver
function in all the drivers when drawing an Ellipse of
height/width of 3 pixels with a pen width of 2/3 pixels.
NOTE:
CHIPS' driver implementation of the Fatline and Polygon
driver function is different from Microsoft's driver
implementation. To fix the above problem, make the
following change in the [DISPLAY] section of the
SYSTEM.INI file:

By default, the driver implementation for the
Fatline/Polygon function is enabled. There will be some
impact on performance by disabling the Fatline/Polygon
