This manual describes how to setup the device driver of TOSHIBA ATAPI
CD/DVD-ROM Drive.
This device driver is exclusive use of following TOSHIBA ATAPI CD/DVD-ROM
drives.

How to setup the CD-ROM device driver.

1. Copy CD/DVD-ROM device driver to the system disk.

2. Add the following line to CONFIG.SYS of the system disk.
LASTDRIVE=Z
DEVICE=:\CDROMDRV.SYS

3. Add the following line to AUTOEXEC.BAT.
C:\DOS\MSCDEX.EXE /D:

4. Restart computer.
Note:

1. The following is the restrictive item for (/B) (/DMA) option switch.
(1) Driver supports DMA transfer only when Intel Triton and Triton2 PCI Chip
Set.
(2) When application buffer address (store CD/DVD-ROM data) is not word
align, the driver will not DMA trnasfer. (Use PIO transfer)
(3) When doing DMA transfer with Intel Triton2 PCI chip set, use EMM386.EXE
version is more than 4.49.
(EMM386.EXE Version4.49 should be in MS-DOS 6.22.)
(4) When DMA transfering, load EMM386.EXE before this device driver is
loaded into system.

2. Port and IRQ used by this driver often can not run successfully when
conflicting with the drives (and drivers) of other companies.

What's new in this release

The NETAMD.INF file for the NDIS5 driver has been modified
to include FDUP, MP, and TP keywords in addition to the
EXTPHY keyword which was already available.

The properties dialog box displayed the EXTPHY keyword in
the middle of the box rather than at the top. We modified
the NETAMD.INF file so that the EXTPHY keyword is displayed
at the top.

Memory tag no. added to comply with HCT certifications.

Support for PCnet-FAST III device has been added to this driver.

1. Driver Installation for Windows 98

Use this procedure if you use Windows 98:
1) Insert the driver disk in your floppy drive.
2) From the Start menu, select Settings, Control Panel.
3) Double-click System to open System Properties.
4) Select the Device Manager tab.
5) Click the plus sign next to the Mouse category, then
Double-click the current device name.
6) Select the Driver tab, and then click Update Driver.
7) The Update Device Driver Wizard screen will appear,
then Click NEXT.
8) Select "Search for a better driver than the one your
device is using now.[Recommended]", then Click Next.
9) Select the Floppy disk drives only, then click Next.
10) Alps GlidePoint will appear, then click Next to copy
the driver files to your system.
11) Click Finish, and then click Close to return to Device
Manager.

1. Driver Installation for Windows NT 4.0

Use this procedure if you use Windows NT 4.0:

1) From the Start menu, select Settings, Control Panel.
2) Double-click Mouse to open Mouse Properties.
3) Select the General tab, and then click Change.
4) The Select Device screen will appear, then Click Have
Disk.
5) Insert the driver disk in your floppy drive. Confirm
or correct the source file path (normally "A:\"),
then click OK.
6) Click Alps GlidePoint, then click OK to copy the
driver files to your system.
7) After the files are copied, Mouse Properties will
show the new device name. Click Close.

DMI 2.0 Instrumentation Enhancements for Windows NT 4.0 and above

Introduction
============
The Desktop Management Interface allows desktop and server computers,
hardware and software products, and peripherals - whether they are
stand alone systems or linked into networks - to be manageable and intelligent.
It allows them to communicate their system resource requirements and to coexist
in a manageable PC and server environment.
Installation
============
The Network Driver Interface Specification (NDIS 4.x) was developed by Microsoft
to offer a standard driver interface for adapter cards. AMD's NDIS 4.x driver
supports the following environments:
Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 · Microsoft Windows 95 OSR2 and above (Memphis, etc.)
Installation details for AMD' s NDIS 4.x driver are described below.

Support is provided for Microsoft Window NT (Version 4.0) environment.
Notes:
1. The directory structure that is provided on the AMD NDIX 4.x driver diskette
has been set up for automatic OEM installation. Also, more information can be
found in the Microsoft Windows NT User's Guide.
2. Only x86-based Windows NT platforms are supported.
3. When the driver is installed, the DMI instrumentation also gets automatically installed.
