To operate TEAC CD-ROM,the device driver (TEAC_CDI.SYS) has to be installed
from INSTALLATION DISK came along with CD-ROM.
Please follow the instruction below.

1. Boot up the system and insert the INSTALLATION DISK into your floppy
disk drive.

2. At the DOS prompt,type "A:\INSTALL" then press enter. (If your floppy
disk drive is "A:")

3. Installation program will now start.Please follow the instructions on the

C:\DOS\MSCDEX.EXE /D:

4. Restart computer.

Note:
1. The following is the restrictive item for (/B) (/DMA) option switch.
(1) Driver supports DMA transfer only when Intel Triton and Triton2 PCI Chip
Set.
(2) When application buffer address (store CD/DVD-ROM data) is not word
align, the driver will not DMA trnasfer. (Use PIO transfer)
(3) When doing DMA transfer with Intel Triton2 PCI chip set, use EMM386.EXE
version is more than 4.49.
(EMM386.EXE Version4.49 should be in MS-DOS 6.22.)
(4) When DMA transfering, load EMM386.EXE before this device driver is
loaded into system.

2. Port and IRQ used by this driver often can not run successfully when
conflicting with the drives (and drivers) of other companies.

Installing the Synaptics TouchPad Driver
-------------------------------------------

This driver requires Windows 2000.

NOTE REGARDING SAVING OF SETTINGS:
----------------------------------
Windows 2000 does not save any of the user settings for users belonging
to the "Guests" user group. This includes special TouchPad settings as
well as all other user settings. If you want your settings to be saved,
make sure your user account does not belong to the "Guests" group
using the User Manager program (you must be Administrator to change
user settings).

NOTE REGARDING MULTIPROCESSOR MACHINES:
---------------------------------------
Though we believe it should work, this driver has not been tested on
any multiprocessor machines.

Installation procedure
-------------------------------------------------------
First, if you have a new TouchPad, plug it in and reboot Windows 2000.
Windows 2000 will then detect your new TouchPad and install a standard
mouse driver to handle it. You cannot install the Synaptics TouchPad
driver until this process is complete and your TouchPad is functioning
as a normal pointing device.

Log on to your system as "Administrator", or as another user with
administrator privileges.

Run "Setup.exe". This program will automatically install the Synaptics
TouchPad driver to handle all PS/2 and Serial pointing devices
attached to your computer.

You will need to restart Windows after the installation is complete.
If the driver has been installed correctly, after you have restarted
Windows you should see the TouchPad Icon in your task bar next to the
clock. Also, a dialog box entitled "Information about your TouchPad"
will pop up. You can prevent this dialog box from coming up in the
future by checking the "Stop showing me this message" checkbox.

For help using your TouchPad, choose "Tell me more..." from the
"Information about your TouchPad" dialog box, or double-click on the
TouchPad Icon in your task bar, and click on the "Help" button.

If you wish to change one or more of your pointing devices to using
a standard Microsoft or other third party driver, you should bring
up the Mouse control panel, and select the "Hardware" tab. From there,
select the pointing device you want to change and click "Properties".
Select the "Driver" tab and Click "Update Driver...". Follow the
instructions to install a new driver.

Driver Installation Procedure for Win2K

Fresh installation:

1. When booting from VGA mode, the OS will automatically "find new hardware".
2. In the "Welcome to the Found New Hardware Wizard" page, click "next".
3. In the "Install Hardware Device Drivers" page, check" Search for
a suitable driver..." which is the default setting, then click "next".
4. In the "Locate Drivers Files" page, check the location from which you want to
install the driver, floppy, CD-ROM, or Specify a location. If you choose
"specify a location", then you should type in the path in the next page
and click "OK".
5. In the "Drivers Files Search Results" page, Windows2000 should locate
the driver you specified, and will display the path in the window. Just click
"Next".
6. In the next page which asks whether you want to install the driver,
just click "yes".
7. The driver will be installed. A final window will be displayed:"Completing
the Found New Hardware Wizard." At this window, just select "Finish".
8. The driver should now be installed. You can right click your mouse, selecting
"Properties". In the "Display Properties" window, select "settings" and
choose the display settings you prefer.

Note: If you have a previous version of the driver and want to test a fresh
installation, please uninstall first, and delete all related '.inf' files
under \winnt\system32 directory (i.e. s3savnb.inf, oem.inf).
Then follow the fresh installation procedure.

O2Micro CardBus Controller Software Installation

The following setup instructions are for Notebook systems containing an O2Micro CardBus controller. For installations of O2Micro CardBus PCI Demo Boards, please refer to “Utilities for O2Micro CardBus PCI Demo Boards” for initialization instructions before continuing with these setup instructions.

Windows95 OSR2 and Windows98:

Both Windows 95 OSR2 and Windows 98 support CardBus mode by default. However, not all controllers are known to these operating systems. Even if Windows knows about the particular controller and installs drivers for it you should run the “O2Setup” utility. Unlike Windows 95 release 1, the controller may be in either Legacy or CardBus mode prior to booting the OS.

Windows 3.1 or DOS:

Windows 3.1, and DOS for that matter, does not include any support for CardBus or Legacy PCIC. You will need to install third party “Socket Services” available from various vendors such as Phoenix, SystemSoft, or Award to allow CardBus support. As with Win95, you may need to ensure that the controller is placed in Legacy mode before installing the third party software. Refer to the documentation provided by the software vendor for this requirement.

Also, some PC-Card vendors may provide “Direct Enablers” for use in Windows 3.1 or DOS that will configure the CardBus controller in order to support the particular PC-Card. If no “Socket Services” or “Direct Enablers” are available, you can’t use CardBus or PCMCIA cards under Windows 3.1 or DOS.


WindowsNT 4.0

WindowsNT 4.0, like Windows 3.1 is not a Plug&Play OS. This OS only has Legacy PCIC support by default. In order to utilize Legacy PCIC support the BIOS must place the controller in a Legacy PCIC mode.

In order to utilize CardBus support, you will need to install third party “Socket Services” available from various vendors such as Phoenix, SystemSoft, or Award. As stated above, you may need to ensure that the controller is placed in Legacy mode before installing the third party software. Refer to the documentation provided by the software vendor for this requirement.

To enable Legacy PCIC support under WindowsNT 4.0:

1. Open “Control Panel”, “Devices”
2. Find "Pcmcia" entry
3. Ensure “Started” at “Boot”

If the “Pcmcia” device can’t be started then the most likely cause is that the BIOS hasn’t placed the controller in a Legacy PCIC mode.

How to install AUDIO driver in Windows Millennium Edition :
=================================================================

1. Insert the "Driver and Utility" CD to CDROM/DVDROM device.
2. Double click [My Computer], double click [Control Panel],
double click [System].
3. Click on [Device Manager] tab.
4. Double click "PCI Multimedia Audio Device" on Other devices
5. Click "Driver" tab, and click "Update Driver"
6. Click on [Next] .
7. Click on "Crystal WDM Audio Codec" locate on CDROM drive:(example D:)\AUDIO\WINMESE
, then click [OK] twice to confirm driver location
8. If system request Driver location, it locate in CDROM drive:\AUDIO\WINMESE
9. if system request you insert "Windows Millennium Edition CD-ROM", click [OK] and select the Windows
Millennium Edition source to "c:\windows\options\cabs" for Reovery CD user. (or you need to insert "Windows

How to Update the S3 Graphics Display Driver in Windows XP
===========================================================
To update or change the display driver:

1. Open the Properties for your S3 Graphics Adapter in Device Manager.

To open the Properties dialog:
Click Start, and then click Control Panel. Click Appearance and Themes, and then click Display.
Click the Settings tab, click Advanced, and then click the Adapter tab and click Properties.
2. Click the Driver tab, and then click Update driver.
3. After the Hardware Update Wizard starts, click "Install from a list or specific location"
and then click Next.
4. Select the locations you wish to search for the updated driver files.

If the updated S3 Graphics driver that you want to install is located in a folder
on the hard disk, then check "Include this location in the search" and click Browse
to select that folder.

Note: If the updated driver is not located on a CD or floppy disk, then
uncheck the "Search removable media" box to speed the search process.
5. Click Next to begin the search.
6. The Hardware Update wizard will search the selected locations for the updated display driver.
If Windows XP finds a driver that it determines to be the best match for your hardware
and is better than the currently installed driver, the installation will begin.

Note: If you are installing a driver that has not yet passed Windows Logo
testing for compatibility with Windows XP, a warning message will appear.
If you wish to continue with the driver installation, click Continue Anyway.

A System Restore point will be automatically created by Windows XP before
installing any unsigned driver files. (See Windows XP Help for more on System Restore.)
7. Once all the driver files have been copied, click Finish.

You will then be prompted to restart your computer to complete the driver installation.
