INTRODUCTION
The ALi M3307 is an advanced single chip, PCI master, MPEG I video decoder.
It utilizes host processor for real time MPEG I Audio Layer I/II decoding
at sample rates of 32KHz, 44.1KHz and 48KHz with mono, stereo or separate
channel modes. The MPEGI Audio/Video synchronization is coordinated by the
M3307 and its driver.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
For Windows 3.1 installation, the system's display adapter and its driver
must have DCI support installed. For Windows 95 installation, the display
adapter must have DirectDraw driver installed.
The M3307 driver and application program installation requires three
megabytes of hard disk storage space.
Windows 3.x Installation Guide:
===============================
Insert the driver diskette in the appropriate drive (A or B).
One of the three methods listed below can use to install the M3307 driver
and application program under Windows 3.x.
I. At DOS prompt, type "win
OR
II. At Windows' Program Manager, choose Run command,
then type "
OR
III. At Windows' File Manager, choose the correct drive, double click
on the file "install.exe"
Windows 95 Installation Guide:
==============================
First time installation:(Windows 95 will automatically detect newly installed
M3307 hardware)

insert the driver diskette in the appropriate drive (A or B).
For example, insert the driver diskette in drive A:.
2. Select "Driver from disk provided by hardware manufacture" item,
and press the "OK" button.
3. When the "Install From Disk" dialog box appears, select the
drive/directory that the M3307.inf is located. For example, select the
drive A, "A:\".
4. Click on the "OK" button.
(Windows 95 installs the M3307 driver and its application.)
5. If there is any "Version Conflict" dialog box appears, click
on the "No" button to replace all older version driver/SW with newer
version SW which comes with the M3307 installation diskette.
6. When the "System Settings Change" dialog box appears, press the
"YES" button which completes the installation process.
(no system re-boot is required.)
If you skip the driver installation when Windows 95 prompts "New Hardware
Found", or something has gone wrong during the installation, you can run
install.exe from the M3307 driver disk to re-install driver. Please refer
to the Windows 95 Upgrade Guide.
Windows 95 Upgrade Guide:

Alps AMOUSE Mouse and GlidePoint Driver for DOS
Guide to Option Settings
CONFIGURING THE AMOUSE DRIVER
=============================
The AMOUSE driver is preconfigured with default settings for
both mice and GlidePoint that many people find suitable for
general use. However, it also supports a wide range of
hardware and software settings to handle almost any
situation.
You can override the default settings by adding option
switches to the AMOUSE command line, or through statements
in the MOUSE.INI configuration file. Command line options
are more convenient for temporary adjustments or frequently
changed items, while MOUSE.INI is the better place for your
long-term preferences. This distinction reflects the fact
that AMOUSE reads the MOUSE.INI settings only when you first
load the driver into memory. Therefore, any changes to
MOUSE.INI will not take effect until you either reboot the
system or remove the driver from memory and reload it.
Conversely, most of the resident driver settings can be
changed simply by issuing new AMOUSE commands.
During its initial load, AMOUSE normally looks for MOUSE.INI
in the same directory where the driver resides. To specify a
different location, set the MOUSE environment variable to
the desired drive and path (e.g., SET MOUSE=C:\BIN) before
loading the driver. This technique lets you keep multiple
copies of MOUSE.INI for different purposes, without wasting
disk space on identical copies of the driver.
TESTING YOUR INSTALLATION
=========================
From the DOS prompt, type AMOUSE TEST to run a simple
diagnostic test built into the driver. If the driver loads
successfully (or was already loaded before this command),
the following line will appear after the copyright and
status messages:
-- Test mode active: press a key to quit --
While test mode is active, a mouse cursor appears on the
current DOS screen, tracking the motion of your pointing
device. The test mode cursor also responds to button presses
by changing to the letter "P" (primary), "S" (secondary),
"A" (auxiliary), or "*" (multiple buttons).
When you are finished with test mode, press a keyboard key
to quit and return to the DOS prompt.

[INSTALLING THE AUDIORACK32]
You must have Windows95 installed prior to using the AudioRack32.
After placing the AudioRack32 disk in a floppy drive, click START on the
taskbar and choose RUN from the popup menu.
In the Run dialog box, type the letter of the drive and "setup" (for
example, a:\setup), then click OK.
The first AudioRack32 Setup dialog box appears. Note the instructions,
then click NEXT to proceed or CANCEL to leave Setup.
Next the Choose Destination Location dialog box appears. Click NEXT to
install the AudioRack32 in the default directory or BROWSE to choose a
different directory. When you are done click OK or CANCEL to return to
the Choose Destination Location dialog box.
If the directory you designate doesn't exist, you will be asked to
confirm your selection. Click YES to proceed or NO to go back and enter
a new destination directory.
Once you have chosen the default directory or entered a directory of
your own choosing, the Setup program will install the AudioRack32.
[CHANGE SETTINGS]
>> DISABLE EJECT BUTTON ON THE CD PLAYER
In the file "auddrive.ini", there is a string "DisableEjectButton=0"
under the section "cdplayer". If you would like to disable EJECT
button on the CD player, you can change the value from 0 to 1.
You need to close AudioRack and launch it again to make the new
settings take effect.
Auddrive.ini is a configuration file located in your Windows
directory. If it does not exist, you can generate it by launching
AudioRack.
>> USE AUDIORACK CD PLAYER AS THE DEFAULT CD PLAYER
During installation, you will be asked if you want to use AudioRack
CD player as the default CD player. Normally Windows 95 CD player is
the default. If you answer "YES", the installation program will
overwrite the value of the key [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT]\AudioCD\shell\play\command
in registry. You may switch back to Windows 95 CD player any time by
resetting this key value.
[KNOWN PROBLEMS]
>> LONG FILE NAMES AND THE AUDIO RECORDER
The Audio Recorder is a 16-bit application. For that reason, it has
trouble with long file names. This may cause an error message if you
click the EDIT button on the Digital Audio Player to edit a wave file
which happens to be in a directory with a long file name. However, you
can still load the file from the Audio Recorder window.
>> RECORD MODE AND THE ES1868
If your audio hardware includes the ES1868 AudioDrive chip, the Monitor
button and Master Volume controls will be disabled in Record Mode. The
ES1868 does not support these functions in Record Mode. For more
information see "Multiplexers" in the Online Help or the AudioRack32 for
Windows95 User Guide.
