5400P Plug & Play BIOS Update Recommended Flash EPROM (BIOS) Management & Updating Procedures
===================================================
Upon first use of the computer system:
1. Create a bootable system floppy diskette by typing [FORMAT A:/S] from
the DOS prompt without creating "AUTOEXEC.BAT" and "CONFIG.SYS" files.

2. Copy the extracted files to your new diskette.

3. Set SW1-1 and SW1-2 to On under the keyboard.

4. At the "A:\" prompt, type: [1100M] or [fp /m=110m 11mr127.bin] and then the key.

WARNING: If the Flash Memory Writer utility was not able to successfully
download a complete BIOS file, your system may not be able to boot up.
If this happens, your system will need service from your vendor.

5. Turn off your computer after successfully flashing the new BIOS.

6. Turn on your computer and hold down the key to enter BIOS setup.
You must select "Setup Default" to affect the new BIOS, then you may
set other items from the Menu.

7. Be sure to enable Plug and Play OS support if you are running Windows 95.

5400 Vadem PCMCIA Driver For Adaptec Slim SCSI Installation Procedure:
1. Install CardWizard Ver 1.00 for DOS/Windows
2. Copy SCSI-K1.SYS to C:\(Kapok driver ver 1.07) and modify CONFIG.SYS file
as the following example.
3. Copy SSVADEM.EXE ver1.01 from the CardSoft ver3.1 driver, which comes with
Adaptec SCSI card, to C:\CardWiz (rename the ssvadem.exe file before you
copy)
4. Use Adaptec Disk 2 of 3 to run A:\DOSINST.EXE and it will find the SCSI
card.

Known Problems

-CLMODE.EXE caused an "exception 13: conflicts between two applications"
error message with QEMM v7.01, 7.02. This is determined to be a
QEMM deficiency. Earlier version and later version of QEMM solved this
problem.

-If you have 2M video memory in your system, AutoCAD driver shows corruption
because of granularity value is not set correctly.
