Connecting Additional Computers
To The DSL-G604T
Wireless ADSL Router
Using additional Ethernet (CAT5 UTP) cables, connect your Ethernetequipped
computers to the LAN ports on the back panel of the DSLG604T.
When you have completed the steps in this Quick Installation Guide,
your connected network should look similar to this:
Configuring the WAN
Connection
In the Connection 1
window, type the
Username and
Password used to verify
the identity of your ISP
account. Click the Apply
button when you have
entered the information.
Configure Connection 1 for PPPoE
PPP or Point-to-Point protocol is a standard method of establishing a
network connection/session between networked devices. It may be
worthwhile for the user to change the default name of Connection 1 to
something that states what connection type is being used, for example,
WAN_PPPoA, the name used in the example below. Notice the VPI and
VCI values are included in the name. It is not functionally necessary to
change the name of the connection, this is done merely to provide
descriptive reference.
To configure Connection 1 for PPPoE, follow the steps listed below.
Some of the settings do not need to be changed the first time the device
is set up, but can be changed later if you choose.
1. Click the Connection 1 button under WAN Setup to view the
default PPPoA Connection Setup configuration menu.
2. Select PPPoE from the Type: pull-down menu. The menu will
blink momentarily
3. Type in a Name: for the connection or use the default name in
the space provided (WAN_PPPoA used in the above example).
4. Under Options, enable NAT and/or Firewall by selecting the
corresponding selection box.
5. If you are told to change the VPI or VCI values, type in the values
given to you by your service provider. Many users will be able to
use the default settings.
6. Leave the default QoS values if you are unsure or the ISP did not
provide this information.

Wireless ADSL Router
With Built-in 802.11g Wireless LAN & 4-Port Switch
The DSL-G604T is an ADSL Router designed for office use. This router lets you quickly and easily connect to high-speed
broadband Internet and share your ADSL line. With a built-in ADSL interface, 802.11g high-speed wireless LAN, 4 10/100BASETX
Ethernet switch ports and advanced router functions, this device gives your business a convenient and cost-effective way to
install a secure, fast network with bottleneck-free link to the outside world.
Simplified Broadband Internet Connection
Built-in ADSL Interface and Ethernet Switch Ports
Built-in High-Speed Wireless LAN
With this router, you can easily connect to your ADSL broadband
line for Internet access in your office or at home. This device
automatically creates an IP number and assigns for each user,
simplifying everyone's logon operation.
A standard-based ADSL modem in built into this router, making
connection to the Internet a breeze. The router also incorporates
four 10/100Mbps Ethernet switch ports, providing ready
connection for workstations and servers, while saving you the
cost and trouble of installing a separate Ethernet switch.
The router also provides the latest standard 802.11g high-speed
wireless LAN for ready connection to wireless users. With speeds
up to 54Mbps and real throughput up to 8 times faster than that of
802.11b, the new wireless LAN provides the performance
necessary for bandwidth intensive applications. In addition, it is
also compatible with existing 802.11b and 802.11b+, providing
you with the ability to communicate with all wireless devices
within the 2.4GHz frequency band.
Network Security
DMZ Host to Open Public Domain
The router provides NAT protection for your office and home users
from any Internet intruders and hackers, plus VPN pass-through for
extra security. It also blocks and redirects certain ports to limit the
services that outside users can access your network. Virtual server
mapping is used to re-task services to multiple servers. This router
can be set to allow separate FTP, Web, and Multiplayer game severs
to share the same Internet-visible IP address while still protecting
your servers and workstations from hackers.
The router supports constricted DMZ to redirect unknown packets to
a dedicated server/PC behind the router, enabling a client (such as a
Web server) to fully expose it to the Internet and ensure complete
Internet application compatibility. This allows you to set up web
sites and e-commerce business from your office while maintaining
protection for the rest of your office LAN.

802.11g Wireless LAN CardBus Adapter The D-Link AirPlusXtremeG+TM DWL-G650+ Wireless CardBus adapter is an enhanced 802.11g high-performance, wireless
adapter for notebook computers. This adapter supports high-speed wireless networking of up to 54Mbps, while providing
seamless interoperability with all existing 802.11b and 802.11b+ wireless equipment. Together with better security, this adapter
is the ideal wireless solution that offers an upgrade to a fast, new technology while protecting your past investments through
interoperability with your current network equipment.
Up to 54Mbps Transmission Speed
Real Throughput 8 Times Faster Than 802.11b Wireless
Adapters
Compatible With 802.11b and 802.11b+
The DWL-G650+ provides speeds of up to 54Mbps when used with
TM other D-Link AirPlusXtremeG+ and other 802.11g products. This
compares favorably with 802.11b adapters that offer 11Mbps speed,
and with 802.11b+ adapters that give 22Mbps transmission. The
DWL-G650+ provides all these using a single 2.4GHz wireless
frequency, eliminating the complexity of dualband networking.
This enhanced speed and adoption of 2.4GHz frequency, now
available for public use in most countries, plus the mobility and
convenience inherent in a wireless LAN, make this adapter an ideal
solution for bandwidth intensive WLAN applications.
Apart from the higher theoretical network data transfer speed of
54Mbps for 802.11g against the 11Mbps for 802.11b, the DWLG650+
also delivers a much faster data transmission than other
wireless LAN adapters. In a typical working environment with
multiple users accessing the network at the same time, the DWLG650+
operates at 8 times the speed of a normal 802.11b wireless
LAN card, which is made possible by means of an embedded turbo
engine on-board this adapter.
802.11g compatibility with existing wireless LAN standards means
that you do not need to change your entire network to maintain
connectivity. You may sacrifice some of 802.11g's speed when you
mix 802.11b and 802.11b+ with 802.11g devices, but you will not
lose the ability to communicate.
Easy Migration to Higher Bandwidth
Powerful Performance
Advanced Security
Easy Installation
By maintaining compatibility with your existing wireless network
equipment, this adapter lets you upgrade to a higher speed at the pace you
want. The DWL-G650+ and other 802.11g standard devices can be
gradually added to your network, while the rest of your older network
remains perfectly connected.
To take full advantage of the new 54Mbps network bandwidth, this
adapter uses 32-bit high-speed CardBus design to transfer network data
with the computer host. This ensures that no bottlenecks take place
between your computer's CPU and your network wireless adapter.
In addition to offering faster data transfer speeds, this adapter also
provides the newest, strongest, most advanced security features available
today. For home users that do not incorporate a radius server in their
networks, security is provided in a convenient, automatic way (when used
in conjunction with other 802.11g products). No longer will you have to
frequently input a new WEP key to execute security operations. With the
DWL-G650+, you will automatically receive a new key every time you
connect, doing away with the inconvenience of manual WEP key input.
The DWL-G650+ provides a stronger network security with 64, 128 and
256-bit WEP data encryption.
With hot swap and plug-and-play capabilities, this adapter can be easily
installed into a notebook PC for direct connection to any wireless device
in the ad-hoc mode or infra-structure mode. Access to your wired
Ethernet servers is also provided through your wireless LAN access
points.
