5. Remove the limitation when browse MAC table in Web UI, user must key in MAC address with “-“, for example “12-23-34-45-56-67”
6. Remove all trusted host by one command in CLI, Web, SNMP.
7. Add Loopback detection v2 (STP independent + port based shutdown)
8. Add an OID to show port utilization
9. Add an OID to clear FDB and ARP table (can’t clear FDB entry based on port or VLAN)
10. Extend trusted host number to 10 entries.
11. Add subnet mask parameter on trusted host, ability to input not only one IP for trusted host
12. Auto complete the commands with extra parameter “force_agree”. Instead of poping up (Y/N) message, it will be executed automatically.
13. Add ping command to user privilege
14. Send trap in SNMP and add warning message in SYSLOG while access violation happens for IP-MAC-Port binding and port security
15. Add Password Recovery feature
16. Port description extended from 32 bytes to 128 bytes
17. Remove first product introductory page in Web-UI for security concern.
18. Add Management IP interface with 128bytes description
19. Rename “DLF” to “Unicast” in storm control feature
20. Enhancement on broadcast storm control feature (port shutdown)
Problems Resolved:
1. After configuring 802.1x Guest VLAN and restart the switch, the device keeps rebooting.
2. While Uploading default configuration file from switch and then download the same configuration from tftp server, some parameters are missing.
3. Extra IE windows shown up and wrong model display while configuring SIM members.
4. In 802.X MAC-based Access Control implementation with RADIUS server, even there’s only authentication on one port, but there are multi-ports’ auth statistics shown on web.
5. Wrong port number display in IP-MAC-Port Binding log message.

Observations
The DES-3000 Series consists of high-performance
managed Layer 2 switches, an ideal solution for the
SMB and enterprise markets. Designed as an entrylevel
management solution for SMBs, these switches
boast enriched advanced features. The DES-3000
Series provides a rich set of switching features that
can be deployed in growing business networks. The
DES-3000 Series is a cost-effective solution which
is suitable for business applications that require
superior performance with options for expansion.
In addition, the switches offer fiber uplinks for longdistance
connections that connect to different group
users, such as classrooms or departments spread
across campus or buildings.
Affordable Enterprise Features
The DES-3000 Series includes many features which
cannot be found in other switches of the same class,
such as IP-MAC-Port Binding (IMPB) user access
management and Traffic Segmentation. These
switches implement 802.1X port-based and hostbased
network access control that enables user
authentication and flexibility for each network access.
The DES-3000 Series supports CPU Interface Filtering
for filtering out malicious packets before they reach
the CPU. This also helps protect the switch from
unnecessary workloads. The series supports 802.1p
priority queuing and packet classification based on
TOS, DSCP, MAC DA and switch ports. Other features
include 802.1D Spanning Tree (STP), 802.1w Rapid
Spanning Tree (RSTP), Loopback Detection (LBD),
and Broadcast Storm Control that enhance network
resilience. For load sharing and redundancy backup
in switch cascading/server attachment configuration,
the DES-3000 Series provides dynamic 802.3ad Link
Aggregation port trunking. The series also features
IGMP Snooping for multicast transmission and Port
Mirroring for tracking network errors.
