Observations
The DBT-122 USB Bluetooth Adapter enables short-range wireless data connectivity
between the computer and Bluetooth enabled devices. It complies with the new Bluetooth 2.0
standard and provides transmission speed of 2.1 Megabits per second, or three times the
speed of Bluetooth devices using the earlier 1.x standards. Personal digital assistants,
cellular phones, headset and other devices can connect wirelessly with the computer. In a
nutshell, this Bluetooth adapter unplugs the digital peripherals and makes cable clutter a
thing of the past.
The DBT-122 Bluetooth adapter operates on the globally available 2.4GHz radio frequency.
Complying with Class 2 specifications, this USB adapter allows the computer to
communicate with other Bluetooth device within a 10 meters' range. It is backward
compatible with all Bluetooth 1.1 and 1.2 devices, transferring data with them using the lower
Bluetooth 1.1/1.2 transmission speeds.
Very compact and lightweight, the DBT-122 adapter is about half the size of a finger. It
supports an extensive set of Bluetooth profiles to provide wireless connection to a wide
range of PDAs, mobile phones, printers, headsets and other Bluetooth-enabled electronic
devices.
Supporting Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum (AFH), the DBT-122 adapter cuts
interference by avoiding crowded frequencies to provide you with the highest level of wireless
connection. For security, the DBT-122T provides enhanced 128-bit data encryption to protect
your data from being intercepted when transmitted in the air.
The DBT-122 adapter provides a USB 2.0 interface that plugs to any USB port available on
the computer. When plugged to a USB 2.0 port, this adapter supports very high data transfer
with the PC host to accommodate the high Bluetooth speed that it provides.
