Introduction
The RocketLinx ES8108/ES8108F Industrial Ethernet Switch, conforming to the IEEE 802.3
and 802.3u standard, supports eight 10/100Base TX (RocketLinx ES8108) or six 10/100TX
plus two 100FX Fast Ethernet fiber ports in either Multi-Mode model (RocketLinx 8108F-m)
or Single-Mode model (RocketLinx 8108F-s). The RocketLinx ES8108/ES8108F features an
IP-30 rated rugged metal housing for operation in harsh environments (-25OC~70OC). It also
features a relay alarm output to notify users if a port link fails or if there is a power failure. It
can be enabled/ disabled via a 9-pin dip switch. It is recommended that the RocketLinx
ES8108/ES8108F be powered by DC 24V power from the 6-pin removable terminal block.

Mounting the Unit
Din-Rail mount: Mount the RocketLinx ES8108 on
the Din Rail using the din-rail clip attached to the rear
of the unit.
Note: Please refer to the User Manual for more
mounting information.

Grounding RocketLinx ES8108/ES8108F
There is one grounding screw on the bottom side
of the RocketLinx ES8108/ES8108F. Connect the
earth ground screw of the switch to the grounding
surface to ensure safety and prevent noise.

Wiring the Power Inputs
1. Insert the positive and negative wires into the + and - contact either under the PW1 or
PW2 on the terminal block connector.
2. Tighten the wire-clamp screws to prevent the DC wires from being loosened.
