Introduction
Comtrol RocketLinx ES7506 is an Industrial Managed Power over Ethernet (PoE) Switch with
4x Fast Ethernet RJ45 ports with PoE injectors and 2x 10/100TX uplink ports.
The uplink ports can be used to link to other switches or perform redundant ring functionality
to improve network reliability – e.g. for IP surveillance via applications.
RocketLinx ES7506 provides comprehensive software features such as PoE power limits,
PoE power scheduling, VLAN, QoS and Redundant Ring support. The management
interfaces include SNMP, Web, Console, Telnet and NetVision -- a powerful and user-friendly
Windows-based switch management utility.
The RocketLinx ES7506 Managed PoE Switch can deliver power to PoE Powered Devices
(PD devices) including surveillance cameras, wireless access points, VoIP phones, industrial
sensors, security card readers and advertisement panels. Typically, this power is up to 15.4w
for standard IEEE 802.3af devices or 20w for high power devices.

2. Mount the unit
The DIN-rail clip can be screwed to the rear
of the RocketLinx PoE Switch to mount it on
the DIN rail or it can mounted on a wall.
3. Power the unit and connect to network
3.1 Connect the PWR1 / PWR2. The unit will power on and the PWR1 / PWR2 LED will blink
during boot up. When the unit is ready, the power LED will turn on.
3.2 The input voltage can be between 24V to 55V DC; however, the voltage provided will
affect the available power through each PoE port. When the input voltage is DC 24V, each
PoE port can provide a maximum of 13.53W at 24V. This increases to 80W in 4 ports for High
Power PD devices when a supply of DC 55V is provided.
4. Powering the Powered Device
RocketLinx ES7506 follows the IEEE 802.3af Alternative B mode connector assignment.
The power is provided through pin s 4, 5, 7 and 8 of the RJ-45 port. Please ensure that your
powered device (PD) is fully compatible with IEEE802.3af and able to receive power
described above, or the PD will not work properly with the RocketLinx PoE Switch.
Caution: Ensure the RocketLinx ES7506 is mounted
in a well ventilated panel and in a location with a
temperature under 60OC. High Power PoE feeding
will cause the system temperature to increase.
