AME1483.sys - upper layer RFC1483 driver copied to \windows\system
AMEPPP.sys - upper layer PPPoA driver copied to \windows\system
AMEMODEM.vxd - lower layer modem driver copied to \windows\system
ATM_KLDG.vxd - lower layer modem helper copied to \windows\system
INIT.bin - modem dowload file copied to c: FIRMWARE.bin - modem download file copied c: AMECSA.cpl - control panel applet copied to \windows\system

6. If you have not installed at least Service Pack 1 followed by MSDUN 1.3, do so.
Install procedure:
1. Install hardware and power the PC.
2. Plug and Play should detect an new Ethernet adapter - this is the ADSL modem.
3. -Win98FE: Direct the Device Manager to the location of NETAME95.inf on the release
media and select the protocol you want.
-Win95: Direct the Device Manager to the related location of NETAME95.inf on the
release media, if you want PPPoA and then select the NETAME95.inf in W95PPPoA directory or
if you wish RFC1483 and then select the NETAME95.inf in W95RFC directory.
4. The Device Manager should copy AMEMODEM.vxd, ATM_KLDG.vxd, INIT.bin, FIRMWARE.bin,
AMECSA.cpl, AMECSA.hlp ,NETAME95.inf, AMEPPP.sys and PPPoA.inf or AME1483.sys and
AME1483.inf to their destinations.
5. When the Device Manager is finished, you must restart the PC now.
Network Setup
RFC1483
1. Go to CSA->Advanced->Encap tab to verify and update the VPI/VCI and Encapsulation
as directed by your service provider.
2. You may also have to set your IP address, subnet mask and other Internet parameters
as directed by your service provider.
3. Re-boot your PC.
4. You can run WINIPCFG to view your IP settings and if necessary to use DHCP
to obtain an IP address.
PPPoA
1. Go to Dial Up Networking and create a 'connectoid' link to the PPP-ATM adapter.
2. In the telephone number of the 'connectoid' you specify the encapsulation and
VPI/VCI as directed by your service provider. The syntax of the string is:
p{L|H|N}{vpi},{vci}
for example pl0,33 sets up an LLC encapsulated PVC on vpi=0, vci=33
while pn8.35 sets up a null encapsulated PVC on vpi=8, vci=35
and ph4,123 sets up an HDLC encapsualted PVC on vpi=4, vci=123
Note that the last option is not a part of RFC2364 but is the technique implemented
by Microsoft Windows 2000 servers.
3. In the 'connectoid' you will also specify your username and password as
specified by your service provider.
Uninstall procedure:
1. Make sure your PPPoA session is disconnected. Save all of your work.
2. Go to the Control Panel->Network and select the AMEMODEM adapter and 'remove' it. The
associated RFC1483 or PPPoA adapter should also disappear.
3. Press OK to close the Control Panel->Network and the uninstaller will ask for
the Windows 95 CD-ROM.
4. Shutdown your PC.
5. Power off your PC and remove the modem.
