LT592.EXE

This file contains the LT WinModem driver file LTMODEM.VXD
version 5.92 from Lucent plus a small batch file utility to
install it with.

This upgrade is designed to be applied to systems already
running V.90 LT modem drivers. Users still running older
K56FLEX drivers are strongly advised to apply IBM's version
5.48 files first (http://members.aol.com/don5408/lt548.html)

Note that this driver is for use under Windows 95 and 98
including Windows 98 SE. It has NOT however been tested
under Windows Millennium Edition and at this time I would
not recommend it's use under WinME as by default ME uses
Windows Driver Model (WDM) compliant *.SYS driver files
(as does Windows 2000) rather than conventional *.VXD files.
I'm looking into the options for users of ME and hope to
post an update soon, check my WinModem driver pages for
details in the near future.

For users running V.90 drivers it is commonly suggested that
rather than running the generic Lucent driver setups that
one extract the single file LTMODEM.VXD and replace the copy
existing in C:\Windows\System with the newer version. This
file is designed to do so quickly and easily, and to backup
the original driver file so it can be restored in the event
that the newer driver should happen not to function as well
as the original driver.
