STEP 1
Download the Intel PRO/DSL 2100 Windows XP software.
STEP 2
Save the download.exe file to your PC's hard disk. In the example below, the file was saved to the "C:/TEMP" subdirectory.
NOTE: Make sure you note the location of the file you saved.
Installing your Intel PRO/DSL 2100 modem software
STEP 1
After the modem has been installed and the computer has been turned on for the first time, the following screen will appear. Select CANCEL.
STEP 2
Right click on the Start button and choose EXPLORE. Then, enter the C:/TEMP directory the download.exe file was saved in.
STEP 3
Double click on the download.exe file you saved in the C:/TEMP directory.
STEP 4
Select MIGRATE DSL.
STEP 5
Select YES.
STEP 6
Select CONTINUE ANYWAY.
STEP 7
Select NEXT to continue.
STEP 8
Select RFC 1483 BRIDGED ETHERNET. Then, select NEXT.
STEP 9
Select CONTINUE ANYWAY.
STEP 10
Select FINISH.
Congratulations! You have finished upgrading your modem for Windows XP support. Please continue with the following instructions after your PC reboots.
Connecting to the Internet
STEP 1
Double click on the Intel DSL modem icon on your desktop.
STEP 2
Select the CONNECT button on the bottom of the screen print below to connect to the Internet. If the button says, DISCONNECT you are already connected to the Internet and ready to browse.
STEP 3
Check your System tray for the connection icon. If your connection icon is green, you are connected to the Internet.
