This readme file will show you how to easily install the fax/modem card into your notebook.
System Requirements The minimum and recommended system requirements for V.92/V.90 fax/modem PC card are as follows:
„« 1. A notebook/computer equipped with PCMCIA Release 2.1 or later Type II slot „« 2. 4MB or higher RAM „« 3. Card and Socket Services Software (if not using Windows 95 or later) „« 4. A standard RJ-11 phone line „« 5. Access to internet via an ISP which offers V.92/V.90 transmissions „« 6. Windows NT4.0, Windows 95 or Windows 98, Windows 2000, Windows Mellenium, windows XP 7. Windows XP Plug and Play Installation Windows XP operating system can auto-detect V.92/V.90 56Kbps Data/FAX Modem PCMCIA PC Card, so it doesn't install special driver.
Windows Mellenium Plug and Play Installation 1. Turn on your computer and start up Windows ME. 2. Insert release diskette in PC's drive A:\win9x 3. When Windows ME has finished its start up, insert the fax/modem card properly into the PCMCIA socket. 4. A dialogue box "Add New Hardware Wizard" shows up. Please select (click) "Automatic search for a better driver (Recommended)", then click "Next". Windows ME will automatically find the PC Card's driver from drive A:\win9x.
Windows 2000 Plug and Play Installation Windows 2000 operating system can auto-detect V.92/V.90 56Kbps Data/FAX Modem PCMCIA PC Card, so it doesn't install special driver.
Windows 98 Plug and Play Installation 1. Turn on your computer and start up Windows 98. 2. When Windows 98 has finished its start up, insert the fax/modem card properly into the PCMCIA socket. 3. The Add New Hardware Wizard should then appear and click Next. 4. The Add New Hardware Wizard will recommend you to Search for the best driver for your device and click Next. 5. Insert the fax/modem card driver disk into your floppy disk drive, and select the Floppy disk drives, and click Next. 6. The Add New Hardware Wizard will search your floppy disk drive and find the installation file, "Intel V92 PCMCIA (MD5661) Modem" or "Standard PCMCIA Card Modem", please click Next for setup. 7. Now Windows 98 has finished installing the fax modem software, click Finish to complete the installation.
