Upgrade procedure for the ADWG02 / ADWG03 boot loader
This upgrade is intended for all models of the ADWG02 and 03 with at least firmware 3.6.0A.
The boot loader will be updated to version 1.2.5.9.
Important!
- Do not, under any circumstance, use a wireless connection for upgrading!
- Firewalls on your PC may report that a program wants to access the
internet. You must allow this for the upgrade program to work.
1. There are two revisions of the ADWG02/03 modemrouter. The revision will be shown
on the ‘product info’ page.(Available on http://192.168.1.1 login Admin, pass Admin )
AR7WRD (Model Number=AR7WRD) ADWG03 (Model Number=ADWG03)
2. Depending on the Model number you must run a different upgrade program:
AR7WRD: Double-Click on the program: qupgrade_AR7WRD.exe
ADWG03: Double-Click on the program: qupgrade_adwg03.exe
Other: For example ‘DWR-XXXX’: qupgrade_adwg02.exe
The following screen will appear after starting any of the update programs:
|
3. Click ‘start upgrade’ to begin the upgrading. This can take up to 5 minutes.
Do not turn off your modemrouter during the procedure!
4. If your modemrouter is not recognized, or not responding, the below screen might
appear:
This is not harmful. Your modemrouter was not found or recognized, and its
bootloader has not been upgraded. Try using one of the other upgrade programs, and
double-check the ‘Model Number’ as shown on the ‘Product info’ page of your
modemrouter.
5. After the upgrade program has finished, The ‘Product info’ page should show the new
bootloader version:
Boot Loader must now be 1.2.5.9. If this is not the case, repeat the steps, and check if
you are running the correct upgrade-program.
6. If the bootloader is version 1.2.5.9 you have successfully completed the upgrade.

Using this adsl modemrouter, you can share your adsl-connection with up to four computers.
Your ADSL Line should be connected to the ADSL port in the back of your router. Your pc’s
should be connected to ports 1,2,3 or 4.
Changing windows IP setup (Note: these only need to be changed if you modified them!)
a) Windows 95, 98, ME: Click Start ? Settings ? Control Panel ? Network ? TCP/IP
properties (Select the TCP/IP set that is connected to the card) Set to automatic IP.
b) Windows 2000,XP: Click Start ? Control Panel ? Network And Internet Connections ?
Network Connections ? Right-Click the LAN connection and select ‘Properties’ ? Set to
Automatic IP and DNS
(By default, the router’s built-in DHCP server will assign each connected pc an ip address.)
Checking if your connection works
After the router has started, the ADSL led should blink for a minute, and then stay on.
When a PPP or 1483 connection has been made, the router will indicate the connection on the
main status page. You can also check the Status – Connection Status page, this should show
PPPoA followed by the IP address the provider has assigned, with the state ‘connected’
You can also check the Status - System Log of the router. This should show ‘PPPOA
Connection successfully established. If it shows authorisation errors, please check username /
password, and if you are sure they are correct, contact your provider.
Tips
1. If the adsl led keeps blinking, check if the splitter has been connected correctly.
2. If you cannot access the router:
- Check if the PC received an IP adres (run IPCONFIG) in ms-dos prompt
- IP Should start with 192.168.1.x and Gateway should be 192.168.1.1
3. If ADSL led does not blink, the router is not starting, please contact supplier.
4. Under windows 98, please connect the router and turn it on before booting
the PC. If you connect the cables after booting, please reboot PC to obtain an IP.
Configuring the router
Start internet explorer or another browser. Check internet settings: Click Tools ? Internet
Options ? Connections ? Never dail a connection. Check LAN Settings: Remove all check
marks (proxy/automatic setting should be unchecked!). Then close the Tools menu.
