Troubleshooting
1. The CD-ROM does not start automatically?
You can start the wizard on the CD-ROM manually. Go to Start, Run, enter ‘D:\wizard’.
If your CD or DVD-ROM player has a different drive letter, use this drive letter instead
of “D” in this example.
2. My computer does not receive an IP address from the router?
· If you have connected your computer with a network cable, please check this
network cable. Replace the cable to test the connection.
· Renew the IP address of the connection.
Windows 98/ME: go to “Start”, “Run”, enter “winipcfg” and click “OK” . Select your
network adapter or wireless receiver and click on “ Renew” .
Windows 2000/XP: go to “Start”, “Run”, enter “cmd” and click “OK” . Enter
“ipconfig /renew” and press Enter.
· Change the settings of your antivirus program and/or firewall (e.g. McAfee, Norton,
Panda en ZoneAlarm). Disabling these programs is rarely enough; remove the
software temporally from your computer to test the connection.
2. The ADSL light does not burn?
The ADSL light should blink for a minute and stay on. Check the following items if the
light is off.
· Check the phone cable from your phone connection to the modem router. Use a
short phone cable.
· Check the connection of the splitter/ ADSL filter.
· Check if you have an Analogue or ISDN connection. You can find the type of
connection of your modem router on the bottom of the device.
· Contact your ADSL provider to let them check the internet connection.
3. The modem router has been configured, but it doesn't receive an IP address on the
page “Connection Status”?
Check the settings of the connection you have created. If this does not seem to work,
you can reset and reconfigure the modem router.
4. The connection is established, but I can not open a webpage?
· Check the settings of the Internet Options. Open Internet Explorer, go to “Tools”
and click on “Internet Options”. Go to the tab “Connections”. Select “Never dial a
connection”. Click on “LAN settings”, disable all options and click on “OK”. Click on
“OK again” to apply the changes.
· Change the settings of your antivirus program and/or firewall (e.g. McAfee, Norton,
Panda en ZoneAlarm). Disabling these programs is rarely enough. Remove the
software temporally from your computer to test the connection.
1. Connect the modem router to your computer using the enclosed networkcable. The
modem router has 4 ports which you can use to connect computers to.
2. Connect the modem router to your ADSL connection using a phone cable.
3. You computer should receive an IP address automatically. Check this by going to
“Start”, “Run”, type “CMD” and click “OK”. (If you use Windows 98/ME you can type
“COMMAND”). Enter “IPCONFIG” in the DOS prompt. The IP address should start with
“192.168.1”. If the IP address starts with “169” consult the chapter “Troubleshooting”.
4. Open the webpage of the modem router using Internet Explorer. Open the address
“http://192.168.1.1”.
Consult the chapter “Troubleshooting” if you do not see the login page.
5. Log on to the page using the username and password “Admin”.
6. You can configure the modem router in two ways:
1. Using the Wizard (recommended). Most settings are configured automatically.
2. Configure all settings of your modem router manually.
