2. AT Command Reference Help
3. Warning Notice to Australian Users
1. Installing Modem Blaster External in Microsoft Windows 95
After you have connected your Modem Blaster External to your system
and booted the system, Windows 95 may or may not detect the new
modem in your system.
Please follow the instructions below to continue to install your
Modem Blaster External properly.
Case One: Windows 95 detects modem during system startup
========================================================
If Windows 95 detects your Modem Blaster External when you start up
your system, please insert the Modem Blaster installation disk when
prompted and then follow the instructions on the screen.
Windows 95 will then auto-select the correct modem (that is,
"Creative Labs Modem Blaster 28.8-33.6 PnP External") for you. In
this case, you should NOT follow the instructions given in the
User's Guide which asks you to double-click the Modems icon in the
Control Panel to install the modem.
Case Two: Windows 95 does not detect modem during system startup
================================================================
If Windows 95 does not detect your Modem Blaster external when you
start up the system, you have to manually add the modem by:
1. Click the Start button, point to Settings and click Control
Panel.
2. In the Control Panel folder, double-click the Modems icon.
3. In the Modem Properties dialog box, click the Add... button.
4. In the Install New Modem dialog box, select the "Don't Detect
My Modem..." check box and click the Next button.
5. Click the Have Disk button.
6. Insert your Modem Blaster installation disk into the drive.
7. In the Install From Disk dialog box, select the appropriate
drive and click the OK button.
8. Select "Creative Labs Modem Blaster 28.8-33.6 External" from
the list of modems given and click the Next button.
9. Select the communications port to which your modem is attached
and click the Next button.
10. Click the Finish button to complete the modem installation.
NOTE: At this point (or during subsequent system startups), Windows
95 may detect the modem and then install the modem as
"Creative Labs Modem Blaster 28.8-33.6 PnP External".
If this happens, in the Modem Properties dialog box (launched
through the Modems icon in Control Panel), check that the
"Creative Labs Modem Blaster 28.8-33.6 External" modem that
you have manually added earlier has been replaced by
"Creative Labs Modem Blaster 28.8-33.6 PnP External".
If "Creative Labs Modem Blaster 28.8-33.6 External" is still
there, please click the Remove button in the Modems
Properties dialog box to delete it.

Modem Blaster Flash56
=====================
The dedicated development team at Digicom Systems has designed this
Flash56 modem with advanced 56K features supporting both V.90 &
K56flex technology and flash memory to make upgrades just a simple
step away. To ensure compatibility with your existing ISP, our
Flash56 modem will continue to operate in K56flex mode. When your ISP
upgrades, you will be able to upgrade this modem by using the simple
V.90 upgrade program included in the installation diskette. Please
see the V.90 upgrade instructions on the back of this card. Please

K56flex TECHNOLOGY
------------------
K56flex utilizes the digital network to make download speeds of up to
56,000bps possible when connected to a digital K56flex server.
K56flex digital servers are typically found at Internet Service
Providers and Corporate Remote Access Servers. These speeds can not
be achieved when connecting to analog modems. To begin downloading at
speeds of up to 56Kbps first contact your Internet Service Provider
and ask for the phone number at which they support 56Kbps using
K56flex technology. A list can be found on the following web site:
www.k56flex.com
V.90 TECHNOLOGY
---------------
In February 1998 the ITU came to an agreement on a universal 56K modem
standard. That universal 56K modem standard has been officially
designated as V.90. It is expected that all 56K ISP locations will
support this universal standard. Once the V.90 standard is
implemented, 56K download speeds can only be achieved when calling
into an ISP location with V.90 support. These speeds can not be
achieved when connecting to analog modems.
Upgrade to V.90 Becomes Easier!
* It is IMPORTANT to call your local ISP to ensure they support V.90
before upgrading
* Please see the V.90 upgrade instructions on the back of this card
Thank you for choosing a Digicom Systems advanced modem. We are sure
it will bring you many hours of enjoyment as you surf the net.
Note: Due to line conditions and FCC regulations in your area
connection speeds may be lower. Current FCC regulations limit
download speeds to 53Kbps Max.
