Known issues:
- Dialback for ISDN does not function
- MSN / Callerparty for ISDN cannot be used
- Switch type not standard EuroISDN (EDDS1)
- Use only manual switch from ISDN/MODEM/GSM
- Analog modem can cause BSOD and reboot. (under investigation)
- Activating ISDN line can be difficult / switch from ISDN to modem

QUICK START INSTALLATION GUIDE FOR WINDOWS 2000
Congratulations on your purchase of the MultiCom.
This quick start installation aims to get you using the product in the shortest possible time.
If you have purchases the XP-Modem; XP-ISDN; or XP-GSM upgrade kits this guide will also show you how to install them.
Installing MultiCom drivers using CD-ROM:
(1) Insert the MultiCom into an available PCMCIA (Type II or III) slot. Windows 2000 will detect the MultiCom and pop up "Welcome to the Found New Hardware Wizard" dialog box. Click on "Next>" to let the wizard search for the drivers.
(2) Select "Search for the best driver for your device (Recommended)", click on "Next>" again. Choose CD-ROM drive as the option for installation.
(3) Insert the MultiCom Installation CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive; then click on "Next" to continue. The Wizard will read the installation information file in the CD-ROM and display a dialog box showing that it has found a driver for the device.
(4) Click on "Next>", the Wizard will start to copy some file. Next, the dialog box "Completing the Found New Hardware Wizard" will appear. Click "Finish" and Windows 2000 will start to add the following Multifunction devices that its has found:
- WAVEXA XP-BUS Controller
- MultiCom XP-LAN Ethernet Adapter
- MultiCom XP-ISDN Adapter
(5) If there are dialog boxes "Digital Signature Not Found" appear, click "Yes" to continue the installation.
(6) First half of the installation has completed.
(7) Second half of installation can be launch by clicking on the "Start" button and run d:\Win2k\setup (assuming that d: is your CD-ROM drive). Click on "Next>" to continue.
(8) WAVEXA Setup will install MultiCom 56K Modem and MultiCom GSM Modem. If there are dialog boxes "Digital Signature Not Found" appear, click "Yes" to continue the installation.
(9) Once "Installation Completed" dialog appear, it indicate that the second half of installation has end and reboot of system is needed.
(10) Click on "Finish" to restart Windows. You will have to configure your MultiCom XP-LAN Adapter before accessing the network. On network configuration, please consult your system administrator.
Setting MultiCom Modem Country Type
(1) Click on the WAVEXA diagnostic icon in Control Panel.
(2) Insert modem NSAU (Dongle).
(3) In the Modem property page, click on "Configure" button to select the country where you are dialing from. Choose the country and click on "OK" button to confirm it.
Note: Please make use of the WAVEXA diagnostic program in Control Panel to configure or test the various functions. For more information, please refer to the user manual in the CD-ROM.

2. Fax and Voice over ISDN
This driver supports fax and voice over ISDN. Tested with RVSCOM 1.61
3. ISDN of PC card access D channel exclusively before it send the first D
Channel packet.
4. Comport crash
In previous release it could occur that the comport crashed when the user
was installing another multi-function modem prior to the multicom.
[Improvements]
5. GSM fax application support. Testing Ericsson 6xx/7xx,
Nokia 5110/6110,6150 and Siemens S10/E10.
6. GSM SMS and SIM management. Above phones tested. E10/S10 cannot read
back from the phonebook (Trio)
GSM notice: there has been an update in GSM 07.05 & 07.07 specification
which particularly affects SMS. These changes we have
implemented in our driver.

Please take the time to review this file before installing and using
INSTALLATION
------------
1. Insert PCMCIA card in an available slot in your notebook, do not
connect the any NSAU to either of the ports.
2. Run a:\setup, the setup will continue until clicking finish to
reboot system.
3. Add "MultiCom XP-LAN Ethernet Adapter"
. Click "Network" under Control Panel, Click "Add" under "Adapters"

. Click "Have Disk", make sure Disk3 inside the floppy drive
. Type in A:\LAN and Click "OK"
. The Miscrosoft TCP/IP Properties Dialog appear, please fill in
your IP address and Subnet MASK such as 255.255.255.0
. The XPLAN Ethernet Adapter install is finished, please choose not
to restart the system
4. Add "MultiCom XP-ISDN Adapter"
. Click "Network" under Control Panel, Click "Add" under "Adapters"
Table
. Click "Have Disk", make sure Disk3 inside the floppy drive
. Type in A:\ISDN and Click "OK"

UNINSTALL

2. Remove "MultiCom XP-LAN Ethernet Adapter"
. Click "Network" under Control Panel, choose Adapters Table
. Highlight "MultiCom XP-LAN Ethernet Adapter" and Click "Remove"
3. Remove V.90 Modem, registery and files
. Click "Add/Remove Programs"
. Highlight "MultiCom Release 1.xx" and click "Remove"
4. Reboot System
