This disk contains drivers for the Initio INI-A100U2W
family of SCSI host adapters
4 - MS-DOS

The DOSSETUP.EXE program installsthe 16bit ASPI drivers,
SCSI CD-ROM driver and the MicrosoftCD extensions. This
program will automatically create or modify the
AUTOEXEC.BAT and CONFIG.SYS files on your hard drive.
To complete CD-ROM installation, you will need MSCDEX.EXE
pre-installed on the hard drive or on a floppy disk.
MSCDEX.EXE is on MS-DOS 6.2x setup disk number one. Be sure
that you know the location and the path of MSCDEX.EXE prior
to running DOSSETUP.EXE. The hard drive will need MS-DOS
6.xx installed or it will need to be formatted with the /s
option (i.e. - bootable format) prior to running Initio
DOSSETUP.EXE. From the x:\ DOS prompt type "DOSSETUP"
and press "enter". NOTE: x = drive letter of floppy drive
used. After DOSSETUP.EXE completes, be sure to reboot system
so changes take effect.

3) Windows 2000 INSTALLATION
------------------------------------------------

Adding or Updating the Initio driver to an existing Windows 2000 system
booted from an IDE drive or different type of host adapter:

Install the A100U2W in an open PCI slot, do not attach any cables to the adapter.

1. Establish a Win2000 session.
Select CONTROL PANEL from within the MY COMPUTER group.
Select ADD/REMOVE HARDWARE from within the CONTROL PANEL group,
Click on NEXT.

2. Windows will show the Hardware Wizard and ask you to click on NEXT.
Select ADD/TROUBLESHOOT A DEVICE, then click on NEXT.
Select ADD A NEW DEVICE, then click on NEXT.

3. Windows will now ask you to choose either SEARCH FOR NEW HARDWARE or
to SELECT THE HARDWARE FROM A LIST. You want to SELECT THE HARDWARE
FROM A LIST, then click on NEXT.

4. Select SCSI and RAID CONTROLLERS, click on NEXT.
Select the HAVE DISK option and point Windows to the drivers (either on
the floppy disk or the temp directory where you unzipped the drivers).
The Initio INI-A100U2W PCI SCSI Controller should be listed on the
screen, Highlight it and click on NEXT. You may need to click on NEXT
at a couple of more screens until Windows comes up with a warning
about the driver not being tested for Windows 2000, at this point it
will ask if you wish to continue, click on YES then click on FINISH at
the next screen.

This should successfully install the drivers, in which case you can now shutdown
the machine and connect your devices to the A100U2W and reboot.
Floppyless SETUP
--------------------------
If you are running WINNT.EXE or WINNT32.EXE to install or upgrade
Win2000, when system reboots and the screen turns black with the text
"Setup is inspecting your computer's hardware configurartion...",
You have two seconds to press the 'F6' key to enter the DRIVER INSTALL
SCREEN, this is the time to insert the Initio driver diskette and
type "A:\WIN2K" to load the INI-A100U2W Win2000 driver.
