3) Windows 2000 INSTALLATION

Adding or Updating the DOMEX driver to an existing Windows 2000 system
booted from an IDE drive or different type of host adapter:
Install the DMX3194 in an open PCI slot, do not attach any cables to the adapter.
1. Establish a Win2000 session.
Select CONTROL PANEL from within the MY COMPUTER group.
Select ADD/REMOVE HARDWARE from within the CONTROL PANEL group,
Click on NEXT.
2. Windows will show the Hardware Wizard and ask you to click on NEXT.
Select ADD/TROUBLESHOOT A DEVICE, then click on NEXT.
Select ADD A NEW DEVICE, then click on NEXT.
3. Windows will now ask you to choose either SEARCH FOR NEW HARDWARE or
to SELECT THE HARDWARE FROM A LIST. You want to SELECT THE HARDWARE
FROM A LIST, then click on NEXT.
4. Select SCSI and RAID CONTROLLERS, click on NEXT.
Select the HAVE DISK option and point Windows to the drivers (either on
the floppy disk or the temp directory where you unzipped the drivers).
The DOMEX DMX3194 PCI SCSI Controller should be listed on the
screen, Highlight it and click on NEXT. You may need to click on NEXT
at a couple of more screens until Windows comes up with a warning
about the driver not being tested for Windows 2000, at this point it
will ask if you wish to continue, click on YES then click on FINISH at
the next screen.
This should successfully install the drivers, in which case you can now shutdown
the machine and connect your devices to the DMX3194 and reboot.

1. Run SETUP.EXE from the Windows 98 CD-ROM and follow the direction
on your screen.
2. After a Windows 98 session is established,
select "My Computer/Control Panel/System/Device Manager/Other-
devices/PCI SCSI Bus Controller" from the Windows 98 desktop.
3. Click the "Driver" tab, then click the "Change Driver" tab.
4. Double click "SCSI controllers", then click the "Have Disk"
button.
5. At the prompt, type in "A:\win98", insert DOMEX DMX3194
driver disk 1, and click the "OK" button.
6. Select "DOMEX DMX3194 Host Adapter", click the "OK" button.
Windows 98 will copy dmx3194.mpd to your hard disk and
complete the driver installation.
B. Adding DOMEX DMX3194 to an existing Windows 98:
================================================
1. Install the DOMEX hardware as described in the User Manual/User
Guide. Windows 98 will detect the presence of a new hardware.
2. When Windows 98 displays the following:
New Hardware Found
PCI SCSI Bus Controller
Select which driver you want to install for your new hardware:
* Driver from disk provided by hardware manufacture
OK Cancel Help
Click "OK".
3. Windows 98 will then display the following:
Install From Disk
Insert the manufactures's installation disk into the drive
selected, and then click OK
Copy manufacturer's files from
A:\WIN98
Insert the DOMEX DMX3194 Driver disk 1 into drive A: and Click "OK".
Windows 98 will copy dmx3194.mpd to your hard disk and
complete the driver installation.

INSTALLATION:
A: Install Windows-NT on a hard drive from the DMX3194 SCSI Host adapter:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. If you are installing Windows-NT from a floppy drive, locate the
Windows-NT Disk 1 for Floppy Installation. Make a backup copy of
this diskette.
2. If you are installing Windows-NT from a CD-ROM drive, locate the
Windows-NT Setup Disk for CD-ROM Installation. Make a backup
copy of this diskette.
3. Put the disk into drive A and turn on your computer.
4. Follow the instruction, and select "CUSTOM SETUP".
5. Select "OTHER" from the list of "Additional Scsi Adapters". A
message will appear on the screen stating that, "Requires
disk provided by a hardware manufacturer". Insert the diskette
containing DMX3194 device driver and press ENTER.
6. WIndows-NT will interpret the txtsetup.oem and oemsetup.inf script
files and load DMX3194.SYS driver to xxx/system32/drivers directory.
B: Adding or Updating the DOMEX driver to an existing Windows-NT 4.0
booted from IDE drive or different type of host adapter:

1. Establish a Windows-NT session.
- Select CONTRL PANEL from within the MY COMPUTER group.
- Select SCSI ADAPTERS from within the CONTROL PANEL group.
2. Select the DRIVERS tab from within the SCSI ADAPTERS group:
- In the DRIVERS window, select "ADD...".
3. In the INSTALL DRIVER window, select "HAVE DISK...".
4. In the INSTALL FROM DISK window that is displayed, enter the
DOMEX Driver path name:
- Insert DOMEX194 Driver Disk 1 into drive A:
- Type: A:\WINNT, select "OK"
5. Select DMX3194 Host Adapter, select "OK"
to install the DMX3194.SYS driver onto your hard disk drive.
6. In the WINDOWS NT SETUP window that is displayed, enter the DOMEX
Driver path name to continue:
- Type:A:\WINNT, select "CONTINUE"
7. This completes updating the Host Adapter Driver. Follow the on-screen
directions to restart your computer and activate the new driver.
8. It is highly recommended that you verify your Windows NT device
driver has been properly installed by selecting MY COMPUTER from
the desktop. Then select CONTROL PANEL:
- Select SCSI ADAPTERS from within the CONTROL PANEL group
- Highlight DMX3194 SCSI HOST ADAPTER from within the
SCSI ADAPTERS listing, and select PROPERTIES. If "This device
is working properly" is displayed in the Device status box, the
driver has been correctly installed.
