B. Quick installation guide ---------------------------
Installation of the camera. We have found some minor changes in the dialog boxes and file locations that have occurred with the final release of Windows 98. Please follow these directions for the camera driver installation EXACTLY.
Your camera has been designed to operate with Microsoft Windows98 Operating System. In order to ensure the video and audio performance your camera has been designed for, we have included an executable on the diskette:
Installation of this executable -------------------------------
1. Unplug all your USB devices (except USB keyboard) 2. Insert the floppy disk "Driver diskette Philips PCA645VC" in the floppy drive A:3. Click "Start", then "Run" and then "A:\vfwupd.exe" 4. Click "OK" 5. Wait until the installation is finished (LED of floppy drive turns off) 6. Remove the floppy from your A: drive 7. Restart your PC (Start / Shut down / Restart)
Step by step installation of your new USB camera --------------------------------------------------
1. Power on your computer to start Windows 98. 2. Insert the floppy disk "Driver diskette Philips PCA645VC" in the floppy drive A:3. Insert the Windows 98 installation CD-ROM disc in the CD-ROM drive. 4. If the Windows 98 setup screen appears, exit this screen. 5. Plug the USB cable of the Philips PCA645VC camera into the USB port on the computer.
Installation of the "Composite A/V Device" 6. Click on "Next" when the dialog box appears for "This wizard searches for new drivers for: USB Composite Device". 7. Click on "Next" when the dialog box appears for "What do you want Windows to do?" 8. Select the "Floppy disk drives" (if not already selected) when the dialog box appears for "Windows will search for new drivers...". 9. Click on "Next" in this dialog box "Windows will search for new drivers..." 10. Click on "Next" when the dialog box appears for "Windows has found an updated..." 11. Click on "Next" when the dialog box appears for "Windows driver file search for the device: Philips Composite A/V Device; CIF Digital Camera." 12. Click on "Finish" when the dialog box appears for "Philips Composite A/V Device; CIF Digital Camera."
