Uninstalling the Old USB Driver and Installing the Downloaded File
Before installing the downloaded file, you must first uninstall the old USB driver Type B.
To uninstall the old USB driver
1. Click your computer's [Start] button.
2. Click "Control Panel", and then "Add or Remove Programs".
3. On the list of programs on the dialog box that appears, select "USB CASIO Digital Camera Device Driver B", and then click [Add/Remove].
4. On the welcome dialog box that appears, click [Next].
5. When the "Program Maintenance" dialog box appears, select "Remove" and then click "Next".
6. When the "Remove the Program" dialog box appears, click "Remove".
7. When the "InstallShield Wizard Complete" dialog box appears, click [Finish].
• This will restart your computer.
After uninstalling the old USB driver Type B, install the file you downloaded.
Installation notes
• Be sure not to connect your digital camera to your computer before you install the downloaded USB driver.
If you connect the digital camera your computer before installing the driver, Plug & Play may register it as an unidentified device.
• The USB driver is not required on a computer running Windows XP/2000/Me. Simply connect the camera to the computer using the USB cable to enable USB data communication.
1. Double-click the compressed USB driver file (USB_B_120E.exe) that you downloaded. This will automatically extract it.
2. On the dialog box that appears, specify the location where you want to extract the files, and then click "OK".
• This will create a folder named "USB_B_120E" at the location you specified. The folder will contain the files listed below.
3. Open the extracted "USB_B_120E" folder, and then double click "Setup.exe" (Figure 1) to start the installer.

4. On the welcome dialog box that appears (Figure 2), click [Next].
This starts installation.

5. When the "InstallShield Wizard Complete" dialog box appears, click [Finish] (Figure 3).

6. When the prompt to restart your computer appears, click "Yes" (Figure 4).

7. After your computer restarts, check to make sure that the USB setting of the camera is "MassStorage, and then connect the camera to your computer with the USB cable. Turn on the camera, and wait a short while until the USB connection is established automatically. Automatic USB connection indicates that the Type B USB driver was installed correctly. Open "My Computer" and check to make sure that a new "Removable Disk" has been created there.
From now on, you will be able to connect the camera to your computer and view the contents of the camera's memory card as if it were a removable disk drive.

* Never disconnect the USB cable while data communication is in progress. Doing so can cause data to become corrupted.

To install the update software on your camera
• Note that installation of the update software cannot be undone. Once you install the update software, there is no way to restore your camera to its original firmware version.
• Upgrading of the firmware cannot be performed while powering the camera with the AC adaptor. Load batteries into the camera before starting the upgrade procedure.
• When using battery power for installation, a safety feature makes it impossible to perform installation when battery power is low. Make sure the camera's battery is fully charged when using battery power for installation.
• After copying the EX-F1.BIN software to camera built-in memory or memory card, disconnect the USB cable from the camera before installing the firmware onto the camera. This firmware update cannot be installed while the USB cable is plugged into the camera.
1) Extract the file you downloaded.

Macintosh Users
* Use Stuffit Expander or some other similar application to extract the file you downloaded. EX-F1_110.sit extracts to EX-F1.BIN.
2) Place the camera onto its USB cable and establish a USB connection with your computer.
3) Copy the extracted file (EX-F1.BIN) to the root directory (the top directory on the drive) in camera built-in memory or on a memory card.

5) On your camera, hold down the [MENU] button (Figure 1) as you press the [POWER] button (Figure 2) to turn on the camera. Keep the [MENU] button depressed until the message "PROGRAM UPDATE" (Figure 3) appears on the monitor screen.

6) On the "PROGRAM UPDATE" screen, move the highlighting from [NO] to [YES] by pressing (Figure 4). Next, press the [SET] button (Figure 5).

7) This starts installation of the update firmware, which is indicated by the message "NOW LOADING" on the camera monitor screen. The message "COMPLETE" (Figure 6) appears when installation is complete.

8) After installation is complete, turn off the camera.
9) Check if the firmware version has been updated.
* If you copied the firmware update file (EX-F1.BIN) directly into camera memory, delete the copied file from camera memory. Next, hold down the camera's [MENU]button as you press the [POWER] button to turn on the camera. Keep [MENU]depressed until the version of your camera's firmware appears on the monitor screen. If "VER 1.10" appears, it means that firmware update installation was successful.
* If you copied the firmware update file (EX-F1.BIN) to a memory card, remove the memory card from the camera. Next, hold down the camera's [MENU] button as you press the [POWER] button to turn on the camera. Keep [MENU] depressed until the version of your camera's firmware appears on the monitor screen. If "VER 1.10" appears, it means that firmware update installation was successful.

* If you are unable to restart your camera after installing the update software, contact your local Authorized Service Center of Casio distributor or Casio Techno Technical Center. Tell them you need assistance because your camera will not restart after installing EX-F1 firmware.

Installing the Software
Note

To install or uninstall this Software, carefully follow the procedures exactly as they are described in the User's Guide (PDF file) included among the files extracted from the downloaded file. Failure to follow proper procedures may result in improper operations.
* Log in as a user with Administrator privileges when performing installation.
To install the software
1)
Create a folder to store the files that will be generated when you uncompress the downloaded file. Here, we will assume that the folder is named F1CT (Figure 1).

Double-click the downloaded compressed file, which is named F1CT1001E.EXE (Figure 2).
When a screen for specifying the storage location appears, click the [Browse] button, select the folder you created in step 1 (F1CT), and then click the [OK] button. This uncompresses the files to the specified folder.

Open the folder where the uncompressed files are located (folder F1CT here), and check to make sure the following four files are present (Figure 3).

Setup.exe : Software and driver installer for computer
Readme_eng.txt : Read Me (English)
EXF1_PC_SOFT_E.pdf : User's Guide (English)

First, open and read the contents of the file named Readme_eng.txt.
This file provides information that could not be included in the User's Guide for some reason.

Open the file named EXF1_PC_SOFT_E.pdf (User's Guide) and perform installation in accordance with the installation procedure in the file. Failure to follow proper procedures may result in improper operations.
