DeskJet and DeskWriter Driver Patch Application

You should apply this driver updater if you are using Mac OS 9 with one of the printers listed below. Do not apply if your current operating system is not Mac OS 9. This program is designed to perform updates to versions 9.4.0 and 9.4.1 of the DeskJet printer driver for Mac OS.
When it is run, this program will perform the following driver updates:
Serial drivers for DeskWriter 600, 660, 680 and 690 series; v.9.4.1 updated to v.9.4.3.
AppleTalk (AT) drivers for DeskWriter 600, 660, 680 and 690 series; v.9.4.1 updated to v.9.4.3

Installation Instructions
Download the file to your hard drive.
Exit all open applications.
Double-click the icon called "dj877en Folder".
If you don't have a folder by this name you will have to use a decompression program to unpack the file named "dj877en.sea". Then double click the installer to start the printer driver installation.
Follow the on-screen instructions and when completed it will prompt you to restart the computer.

HP DeskJet 870 AppleTalk Solution Utility for Macintosh. This is the solution for the HP DJ870 which is not reporting correctly when hooked to a Macintosh via an AppleTalk (LocalTalk) connection. The files which make up the solution are the AppleTalk Solution Utility and the Solution File. Instructions are also included. Instructions: Hook printer to PC's modem port with a serial cable. Run the AppleTalk Solution Utility. Choose DeskWriter (modem port) when prompted. Choose Solution File and click on OPEN. Turn printer off and on. Re-hook printer to PC with AppleTalk connection.
