Microsoft Windows Version 3.0/2.x

The following installation instructions are for installing the Canon
BJ-300/330 driver into Microsoft Windows 3.0. The installation
instructions assume that Windows is already installed on your hard
drive and is located on Drive C. If Windows has not been installed,
please refer to your Windows manual for installation instructions.

This file will print out after viewing the installation
instructions. Make sure that your printer is turned on and ON-LINE if
you wish to print this file.

NOTE: Make sure that you have the following files before installing
the BJ-300/330 printer driver into Windows:
CANON330.DRV
UNIDRV.DLL
UNIDRV.HLP
README.TXT
The CANON330.DRV, UNIDRV.DLL, and the UNIDRV.HLP are the
necessary files for the Bubble Jet driver to work correctly with
Windows 3.0.

1) If you are not in the Window's System directory
(C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM), then type:
C:
CD\WINDOWS\SYSTEM .

2) Insert the driver disk into drive A. Copy the driver files
to the Window's System directory.
Example:
COPY A:\*.* C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM .

3) Type WIN .

4) In the PROGRAM MANAGER, double click on the MAIN Icon Group.

5) Double click on CONTROL PANEL icon.

6) Double click on PRINTERS.

7) Click on ADD PRINTER.

8) In the "List Of Printers" box, scroll down and double click
on UNLISTED PRINTER.

9) Under the "Directories" box, double click on [SYSTEM].

10) Under the "Driver Files" box, click on CANON330.DRV, then click
on OK.

11) Under the "Installed Printers" box, the Canon Bubble Jet BJ-330
on NONE, Inactive should be highlighted.

12) Click on CONFIGURE.

13) Highlight the Appropriate Port. Ex. LPT1:

14) Click on the SETUP button.

15) Choose the appropriate Resolution, paper size, and paper source,
then click on OK.

16) Click on OK at the Configure Menu.

17) In the Status box, highlight ACTIVE.

18) Click on OK to save and close the printers contro pannel.

19) Close the CONTROL PANNEL.

The Canon Bubble Jet driver installation is now complete.

Installing a Canon BJ-300 Driver
---------------------------------
1. In the Main group, choose the Control Panel
icon.

2. In Control Panel, choose the Printers icon.

The Printers dialog box appears. If you have
never installed a printer, the dialog box
expands to display a list of printers available
in the Windows version 3.1 package, and the Add
button is unavailable. Go to step 8.

3. Choose the Add button.

The dialog box expands to display the List Of
Printers.

4. In the List Of Printers box, select Install
Unlisted or Updated Printer.

5. Choose the Install button.

A dialog box appears, instructing you to insert
the disk that has the printer-driver file on it.

6. Insert the disk you made during the downloading
procedure, or type the path of the directory
where you downloaded the driver. Then choose the
OK button.

Another dialog box appears, listing several
printers.

7. In the List Of Printers box, select the printer
you want.

8. Choose the OK button.

The Printers dialog box appears. Your printer is
listed in the Installed Printers list.

9. Choose the Close button.

10. For instructions on how to configure your
printer, see Chapter 5, "Control Panel," in the
"Microsoft Windows User's Guide."
Updating the Universal Printer Driver (UNIDRV.DLL)
--------------------------------------------------
The Windows Driver Library includes the most current
version of the Universal Printer Driver. To update
UNIDRV.DLL:

1 Change to the disk or directory to which you
downloaded.

2 At the MS-DOS prompt, type:

copy unidrv.dll

where is the drive and directory containing
your existing unidrv.dll file.

This overwrites your existing UNIDRV.DLL file.
Updating the Postscript Driver (PSCRIPT.DRV)
------------------------------------------------------
The Windows Driver Library includes the most current
version of the Microsoft Postscript Driver. To update
PSCRIPT.DRV:

1 Change to the disk or directory to which you
downloaded.

2 At the MS-DOS prompt, type:

copy pscript.drv

where is the drive and directory containing
your existing pscript.drv file.

This overwrites your existing PSCRIPT.DRV file.
