Purpose
The Cypress USB Mass Storage Driver provides support for the entire line of Cypress USB Mass Storage
products (AT2, FX, FX2, ISD-200, ISD-300, ISD-300LP, and SL11R-IDE) on Windows 98 Second Edition,
Millennium Edition, 2000 Professional Edition, and XP Home and Professional Editions.
Description
Version 6.01 is the initial public release of Cypress USB Mass Storage Driver for Windows version 6.
The driver package consists of the following files:
· CY_BG.exe – Background application
· CY_COINS.dll – Coinstaller library
· CY_FX_AT.inf – AT2, FX, and FX2 driver setup information
· CY_FX_AT.sys – AT2, FX, and FX2 driver
· CY_IOSMP.sys – I/O subsystem filter driver
· CY_IOSTB.inf – I/O subsystem port driver setup information
· CY_IOSTB.pdr – I/O subsystem port driver
· CY_NI9X.exe – Notification tray icon application for Windows 98 and ME
· CY_NINT.exe – Notification tray icon application for Windows 2000 and XP
· CY_SL11R.inf – SL11R-IDE driver setup information
· CY_SL11R.sys – SL11R-IDE driver
· CY_UI16.dll – 16-bit user interface library
· CY_UI32.dll – 32 bit user interface library
· CY_UN.exe – Uninstaller
· CY_X00.inf – ISD-200, ISD-300, and ISD-300LP driver setup information
· CY_X00.sys – ISD-200, ISD-300, and ISD-300LP driver
Fixes and New Features
There are a number of issues that have been fixed and new features that have been added since the previous
release of the Cypress USB Mass Storage Driver for Windows (version 5.16). They are as follows:
· Merged ISD-200 and ISD-300 drivers and added support for ISD-300LP.
· Modified background application to only send USB interrupt events to current user on Windows XP with
Fast User Switching.
· Added coinstaller library to start background application in WHQL-legal manner.
· Fixed issue where uninstaller did not remove all files.
· Fixed issue where Window ME hung on shutdown with device attached.
· Fixed all known WHQL driver signing issues.
Issues and Limitations
There are some know issues and limitations with this release of the Cypress USB Mass Storage Driver for
Windows. They are as follows:
· ISD-200-connected ATA devices are not supported, because they are not USB Mass Storage Class
compliant.
· The USB performance enhancement feature cannot be enabled, because the Enhanced Host Controller
Drivers included with Windows 2000 and XP do not work correctly with the USB performance
enhancement.
