Hitachi, Mke, Teac How to install the device driver under DOS environment

To operate TEAC CD-ROM,the device driver (TEAC_CDI.SYS) has to be installed
from INSTALLATION DISK came along with CD-ROM.
Please follow the instruction below.

1. Boot up the system and insert the INSTALLATION DISK into your floppy
disk drive.

2. At the DOS prompt,type "A:\INSTALL" then press enter. (If your floppy
disk drive is "A:")

3. Installation program will now start.Please follow the instructions on the
screen to complete the installation procedure.

4. When finish,remove the INSTALLATION DISK from the floppy disk drive then
REBOOT your system.

During system reboot,check for the following message to assure that
the driver was loaded properly.

Drive X: = Driver TEAC-CDI unit 0

* 'X:' ... Drive letter assigned to CD-ROM Drive

This message means that TEAC CD-ROM drive is now activated.

* Now the installation of TEAC CD-ROMdrive is completed.

Recommended Flash EPROM (BIOS) Management & Updating Procedures

Upon first use of the computer system:
1. Create a bootable system floppy diskette by typing [FORMAT A:/S] from
the DOS prompt without creating "AUTOEXEC.BAT" and "CONFIG.SYS" files.

2. Copy the extracted files to your new diskette.

3. Set SW1-1 and SW1-2 to On under the keyboard.

4. At the "A:\" prompt, type: [1100M] or [fp /m=110m 11mr127.bin] and then the key.

WARNING: If the Flash Memory Writer utility was not able to successfully
download a complete BIOS file, your system may not be able to boot up.
If this happens, your system will need service from your vendor.

5. Turn off your computer after successfully flashing the new BIOS.

6. Turn on your computer and hold down the key to enter BIOS setup.
You must select "Setup Default" to affect the new BIOS, then you may
set other items from the Menu.

7. Be sure to enable Plug and Play OS support if you are running Windows 95.

B. NT56 Drivers Installation

Note: Audio driver must be installed before modem driver.

Step 1: Install Audio driver
From Control Panel\Multimedia\Devices, choose "Add...",
"Unlisted or Updated Driver", click "OK".

Browse... or specify the directory where the installation files are,
click "OK" and follow the on screen prompts. (If the screen DRIVER EXISTS
comes up, select NEW).
Let the system restart.

Step 2: Install modem driver
1) Insert this installation disk into drive A: and Run SETUP.EXE
from this diskette.
2) Select COM port if needed (default is COM4) and click "OK".
3) Use the Modem icon in Control Panel to install the modem. It will
automatically detect the EDSPPORT modem. (Do not choose this item
manually).
5) That's it!
