A.) NEW DRIVER INSTALLATION

NOTE: After the initial installation of the Driver (instructions below),
please install the Configuration Utility from the original CD
that came with the device. For information on installation and
utilization your Configuration Utility, refer to the "Configuring
the Network PC Card" section of your User Guide.
1. Windows 95 & 98
---------------
a. Once you have booted up your PC, Windows will auto-
matically identify the presence of the PC Card and prompt
you to install the necessary driver. Click [Next] to proceed.
b. Windows will notify you that it is unable to locate the
driver and will ask you to specify where the driver is
located. Click [Other Locations] to select the driver’s location.
c. This will bring you to the [Select Other Location] screen.
Click [Browse] to select the driver’s location, or enter the
location where you have extracted the downloaded file.
d. You will return to the [Select Other Location] screen. The
folder you have selected will now be shown under Location.
Verify that this is correct and then click [OK].
e. Windows will then display a screen indicating that Windows
has installed the PC Card drivers. Click [Finish].
f. Windows may ask you to insert your original Windows CD-ROM.
When prompted, insert your Windows CD-ROM and click [OK].
g. Windows will now ask you to restart your computer. Click
[Yes] to restart.
The installation is complete. For information on using your
PC with your network, refer to the "Configuring the Network PC
Card for Windows 95, 98, and ME" section of your User Guide.
2. Windows Me
----------
a. Windows Millennium will automatically identify the Network
PC Adapter and prompt you to install the necessary driver.
Make sure that [Specify the location of the drivers] is
selected and click [Next] to continue.
b. Check the box next to [Other] and Browse to the location of
these drivers. Click [Next] to continue.

a. Once you have booted up your PC, Windows XP will automatically identify the presence of the PC Card and prompt you to install the necessary driver. Choose "Specify a location for the driver" and click [Next] to proceed.
b. Choose the "XP Driver" folder from the directory where you extracted the download file. The default is C:\wpc11. Click Next to continue.
c. Windows XP will then notify you that the driver is not Digitally Signed. Select Coninue Anyway to proceed.
d. You will be notified that the installation is complete. Click Ok to continue.
e. Please continue to the next section for the Configuration Utility installation.
2. Utility Installation
----------
While the WPC11 XP driver is an NDIS 5 driver, it does not support all of the built-in wireless functionality of Windows XP. Therefore, changing the settings of your adapter can easily be accomplished by installing the Linksys-supplied configuration utility. Just follow the steps below:
a. Run the Setup.exe from the "Utility" folder. This folder will be in the directory specified during the file extraction.
b. Follow each screen carefully as you will be prompted to enter Wireless Network settings, such as SSID and Communication Mode.
c. When the installation is complete, you will be asked to reboot your computer. Select Yes to reboot your system.
NOTE: Verify your wireless setting by launching the Configuration Utility from your desktop or the status bar. In some cases, the settings specified during installation may not be correctly applied.
