NEW INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
----------------------------------------------------------------------
When installing the LANgate and/or Salmon software for the first time
(or whenever you install it onto a System Operator's computer), you should
type the following from the DOS prompt or Program Manager:

A:INSTALL LANGATE
or
B:INSTALL LANGATE

instead of simply typing INSTALL. Adding the word "LANGATE" after the
INSTALL command tells the installation software to assume that the
SYSOP is installing the software.

When distributing the software to your end users, you should follow the
following procedure to maintain your network's security:

1. Make a new directory on your NetWare file server.
2. Set the directory's rights to SUPERVISOR.
3. XCOPY the entire LANgate disk to the new directory.
4. Switch to the new directory. Delete the README.TXT, README.EXE,
and GATEMGR.EX_ files.
5. Distribute all of the remaining files in the directory to your
end users, either by floppy or across the network. If distributing
across the network, be sure to change the directory's rights back to
READ-ONLY so that it can be accessed.
6. When users receive the software, they should be instructed to use
the INSTALL command without any command-line parameters. For example,
if installing from the A: drive, users should type:

A:INSTALL

from the DOS prompt or Program Manager. For your network's security,
DO NOT distribute the README or GATEMGR files.

WINDOWS 95 USERS
---------------------------------------------------------------------
LANgate currently supports the dial-out (modem sharing) feature under
Windows 95 only. Remote access is not supported.

Windows 95 dial-out applications like TERMINAL.EXE must be 16-bit
applications running in 16-bit mode. 32-bit applications like
HyperTerminal are not yet supported.

If you have difficulty installing the dial-out LANgate software,
you may need to manually deCOMPRESS any compressed files on the
LANgate disk from a standard Windows or WFW computer, then move
the decompressed files over to your Windows 95 machines. A Windows 95
installation program is in the works.
