This file pertains to the Supramax USB V92 modem (SUP2920, part number 32680001-005) and contains the beta V.92 drivers for Windows 2000. These drivers have been tested, but should still be considered beta. These drivers are not for use with other modems or operating systems, including non-V.92 capable SupraMax USB modems.

These are beta V.92 drivers for the Supramax USB V.92 modem (SUP2920, part number 32680001-005) for Windows 2000.
Installation Instructions
-----------------
You should print this document for easy reference. This installation prodecure is for updating the drivers for the modem.
Installation Process for Windows 2000:
-----------------
1. Download the file to your computer. In your browser, click on the file name,
supramax-usb-v92_beta_win2k_172-020.exe. Your browser should prompt as to where you would like save the file. Note the location that the file was saved to.
2. When the download is complete, you should disconnect from the internet and close all open
programs.
3. RIGHT-click on My Computer and go to Properties. On the Hardware tab, click on the Device Manager button. Click on the + next to Modems. RIGHT-click on the SupraMax modem listed here and choose Uninstall. This will remove the modem.
4. Go to Start > Programs > Accessories > Windows Explorer. In Windows Explorer, go to Tools > Folder Options. On the View tab, make sure the radio button for "Show hidden files and folders" is set to on. Click OK.
5. Back in Windows Explorer, click on the appropriate + signs and browse to the inf directory of your Windows directory. In most cases, this will be C:\WINNT\inf. Click on the yellow "inf" directory so that files appear on the right hand side of Windows Explorer.
6. On the right hand side, look for files that begin with "oem". Depending upon your system configuration, there may be several. Double click oem0 (or oem0.inf) to open the file. The top line should identify what hardware this file is for. Note if you see SupraMax USB. Other oem files (oem1, oem2, etc.) relate to other hardware in your system.
7. For the file that relates to the SupraMax USB, RIGHT click on the inf and the pnf file, and delete them. In many cases, this will be oem0.inf and oem0.pnf, but your system may be different. These files will move to your Recycle Bin if you need to access them later.
8. Back in Windows Explorer, browse to the location that you downloaded the file. Double-click the file, and note the location where the files are being extracted to. Typically, this will be c:\supra. Close Windows Explorer.
9. Back in the Device Manager, click on Action, then Scan for hardware changes. Windows should detect the modem. When Windows asks for drivers, point the installation procedure to the location on your hard drive where the new driver files are located. Windows will install the modem.
10. If you wish to go back to the original drivers, follow the procedure above. At Step 9, when Windows asks for drivers, point the installation procedure toward the CD that originally came with the modem, and those drivers will be installed.
Installation Verification

To verify that the updated drivers have been installed, you should do the following:
1. Click Start/Settings/Control Panel.
2. Double-click on Phone & Modem Options, then go to the Modems tab.
3. Highlight your modem and click on Properties. On the Diagnostics tab, click on Query Modem. Next to one of the lines starting with ATi3, look for:

This is the driver version of the modem, and indicates you have successfully installed your modem with the beta V.92 drivers, and that it is installed correctly in Windows.
