This file contains the original Windows 2000 drivers for this modem, and are available for reference only. These are not updated drivers, and are the original release drivers that ship with the modem. The version number is 9.5.2.166.003. These drivers are not for use with other modems or operating systems.
Installation Instructions
-----------------
You should print this document for easy reference.
Installation Process(Windows 2000):
-----------------
1. Label a blank formatted floppy disk, "Supramax 56e USB Driver files."
2. Insert the disk into the floppy drive.
3. Download the file onto a floppy disk. In your browser, click on the file name, supramax-usb-2920_win2k_003.exe. Your browser should prompt as to where you would like save the file. You should select the floppy drive, "A:\" (without the quotes).
6. When the download is complete, you should disconnect from the internet and close all open
programs.
7. Extract the files from the downloaded file. Click Start\Run\Browse. Locate the supramax-usb-2920_win2k_003.exe file on the floppy drive, "a:." Click OK and then OK again, or double-click the file icon.
6. A Self-Extractor window should appear. "C:\Supra" should appear in the Unzip
To Folder window. This is the default location. You should accept this location, as the complete set of drivers will not fit on a single floppy disk. Click on the OK button.
7. After the files have been extracted, review the this readme notepad and print if necessary. Close this window to exit the extractor program.
8. Power down the system and install the modem into an available PCI slot. Boot up the system as normal.
9. Windows will detect modem as new hardware, and the Driver Installation Wizard will open.
10. Choose to "display a list of known drivers" as opposed to "search for a suitable driver."
11. Point the wizard to the location on your hard drive where you extracted the drivers. You may need to click "Have Disk" and and type in the path to the drivers(C:\Supra).
12. Windows will install a "Supramax 56e USB" driver.
10. Specify the country of use if prompted.
11. You should now verify your installation.
Driver/Installation Verification:

To verify that the updated drivers have been installed, you should do the following:
1) Go to Start > Settings > Control Panels. Double-click on System, click on the Hardware tab, and click on Device Manager.
2) Click on the + in front of Modems, right-click on the modem and go to Properties.
3) On the Diagnostics tab, click the Query Modem button. After a few seconds, The ATI commands should contain information, including an ATI3 response of Supramax 56e USB.

Installation Process for Windows 98/98SE/ME:

1. Download the file to your computer. In your browser, click on the file name,
supramax-usb-2920_win98_166-003b.exe. Your browser should prompt as to where you would like save the file. Note the location that the file was saved to.
2. When the download is complete, you should disconnect from the internet and close all open
programs.
3. Using Windows Explorer, browse to the location that you downloaded the file. Double-click the file icon to begin the installation.
4. A Self-Extractor window should appear, labeled Diamond Multimedia.
5. After the files have been installed click OK to the "success" window and then Close to exit
6. When the program has finished it may restart Windows automatically. The installer will finish any additional installation at this point. Choose the correct country if prompted. Your modem is now installed.
Installation Verification
---------------------------
To verify that the updated drivers have been installed, you should do the following:
1. Click Start/Settings/Control Panel.
2. Double-click on Modems and select the Diagnostics tab.
3. Highlight the COM port associated with your modem, and click the More Info button. Next to one of the lines starting with ATi3, look for:

This indicates you have successfully upgraded your modem with the appropriate drivers, and that it is installed correctly in Windows.

You should print this document for easy reference. This installation prodecure is for updating the drivers for the modem, as the modem will be installed automatically by the operating system as a "Generic Soft 56k" modem.
Installation Process for Windows XP:

2. When the download is complete, you should disconnect from the internet and close all open
programs.
3. Extract the files from the downloaded file. Click Start\Run\Browse. Locate the suprasst-2770-11-v92_winxp_30512.exe file on the floppy or hard drive. Click OK and then OK again, or double-click the file icon.

9. On the Driver tab, click Update Driver. Choose to "Don't search. I will choose the driver to install." Click Next.
10. Point the installation wizard to the location that the drivers were extracted to (this will be C:\SUPRA, if you did not change the default location). You may receive a message about the drivers not being digitally signed. Continue through this message.
11. Drivers for the SupraSST 56i modem will install. Click Finish to finish the installation. Now, verify the installation.
