Important information for CTX 900_V3 – V9x HAM 1394
1. F unctionality:
This card is a COMBO card which only functions in a special slot of the
original computer. You can not use this card in normal PCI slot.
2. D river:
You can use the same drivers for this modem as for CTX402_21,3,6. Both
modems have the chip „HAM“.
Driver for the fire wire will be offered by operating system.
3. L inux:
There is only available a driver for Kernel 2.4.x. A driver for kernel 2.6.x will
not be developed.
4. V ista 32 & 64 bit:
There are no drivers for this device and Vista available and they will not be
developped.

Installation instructions for the Modem V.9x HAM 1394V

1. Unzip the driver into a temporary directory.

2. De-install the old driver (see de-installation instructions mentioned below), or rather delete after a new installation of the operating system the entry for the modem (“PCI Communication Controller”) at the device manager (start – settings – control panel – system – hardware – device manager [classical view] respectively start – control panel – performance and service – system – hardware – device manager [categorical view]) under “Other components”.

3. Restart your PC

4. The assistant for searching new hardware: “PCI-Communication controller (simple)” will be started.

5. Choose “Install software from a list or a special source (for advanced users)” and go ahead with -> Next

6. Search the applicable driver in that source. Activate “Search also the following source” and indicate the directory, in which you have unzipped the driver or search with the button “Search”. Important is, that the complete path is indicated (this means, that you have to choose the right country, if the complete driver was downloaded. Confirm this window with “Next”.

7. Your PC is now searching for the indicated sources and will find “V9X HAM 1394V”. The software will be installed.

8. Finishing of the assistant: “The software for the following hardware has been installed: V9X HAM 1394V” continue with -> Finish.

9. The modem should now be available at the control panel (see printer and other hardware) under telephone- and modem-options.
De-installation of the driver 4.12 under Windows XP

1. De-install (right mouse button) at the device manager (start – settings – control panel – system – hardware – device manager [classical view] respectively start – control panel – performance and service – system – hardware – device manager [categorical view]) the entry: V9X HAM 1394V under modems.

2. Delete at the hidden directory \WINDOWS\INF the oem*.inf-file (* stands for digit), which describes the modem. The oem-files can be open up with a double click and they are written in clear text.
