INSTALLATION
------------
TotalCom is a full PCMCIA card conforming to Windows95&98 PCMCIA hardware
requirements. Hence it is also a plug and play card. No jumper settings
or hardware settings are required.

1. Place the PCMCIA card on a flat surface with the top-side of the card
facing up and the direction of insertion indicated by the arrow pointing
to the right. The right edge of the card contains the PCMCIA connector and
2 connectors can be found on the left edge of the card.

2. The connector further from you on the left edge is called the XP-Bus
connector. The connector nearer to you on the left edge is the XP-Modem/XP-Lan
DAA port.

3. There are 4 disks containing software for installation.

4. Before proceeding with software installation, please ensure that you
have the Windows 95&98 installation CD. Please also ensure that you have installed
the correct PCMCIA socket drivers for your system.

5. Do not connect any NSAU to either of the ports. Insert the PCMCIA
card in an available slot in your notebook. Windows95 will detect
the card and prompt for a manufacturer diskette. Insert
TotalCom Setup Disk 1.

6. Win95&98 will proceed to install :
(a) TotalCom XP-Bus Controller
(b) TotalCom XP-Lan Ethernet Adapter
(c) TotalCom ExtremeSURFR 56K Modem
(d) TotalCom ExtremeSURFR Wave Device

If you have not installed a LAN adapter previously, Win95&98 may request to
restart the system, select no until all the above devices have been detected.

If the TotalCom Setup installation is launched before the completion
of the Wave Device installation (d), minimise the setup application and
continue with the Wave Device Installation. Proceed with the setup after
the wave device has been installed.

In Win98, after the Wave Device installation (d) complete, its will prompt
for rebooting of system, select "NO" to allow setup installation to proceed.

7. When all the drivers have been installed, the TotalCom Setup will
automatically execute and install and refresh the Dial-up Adapter bindings
in the system together with the TCP/IP protocol driver. These are essential for
remote networking.

8. Restart the system.

9. Inserting the XP-ISDN NSAU will trigger off the installation of ISDN
software and drivers. You will require the Windows 95 Installation CD.
Make sure to restart the system before using the IsdnWanLines.

10. Inserting the XP-GSM NSAU will trigger off the installation of GSM
software and drivers. You will require the Windows 95 Installation CD.
