Installation Notes:

1. The setup program may fail if other applications or icons are active during JLIP setup.
If the setup program is unable to complete installation,
or if the JLIP Video Capture program does not function correctly, close all applications and run JLIP setup again.

If you are unable to close all application use the following procedure:

For Windows 3.1
Exit Windows.
Start Windows.
Hold down the shift key while Windows starts; this bypasses loading any startup programs.
Run the JLIP setup program again.

For Windows 95
Press Ctrl, Alt and Del at the same time; this activates the Task Manager.
Select any program except Explorer or Systray and press End Task.
Repeat this until Task Manager lists only Explorer and Systray.
Run the JLIP setup program again.

2. If you use Virtual Desktop, select a fixed size screen in the Display Properties.

Other Notes:

"Check the capture device" is displayed.

* Capture is unavailable when the video capture unit is in any mode other than playback. Set it to the playback mode.
* Capture is unavailable when the ID number of the JLIP video capture device has not been confirmed.
Execute "Set-up"-"JLIP Initialization" to confirm the ID number.

For JVC VCR Owners:

The JVC VCR(for example HR-S9400U) may not accept commands from your personal computer such as:
* Power ON/OFF while the VCR is in the Timer mode.
* Power ON when there is no cassette inserted in the VCR.

----------------------------------------------------------

The following problems have been discovered since the JLIP VIDEO CAPTURE software was released;

1. When installing this software;

1-1 The error message "Run-time error '76' Path not found." appears, indicating that this software cannot be opened.
This occurs if this software is installed in your hard drive root directory (C:\).
Create a folder (directory) such as C:\JCPT and install this software again.

1-2 If connected to another PC on a network, software installation cannot be performed properly.
In this case, try installing with the network connection turned off.

2. When using this software;

2-1 The serial communication port cannot be opened.

This occurs when another device such as a modem or a digital still camera is using the serial port. Change the setting of the software using the serial port, and keep the serial port free for this software to use.
When a laptop PC is used, there may be many cases when the driver for the infrared data communication system (IrDA) remains the factory setting.
Change the PC setting and change the communication port driver to the standard serial driver.

2-2 The error message "Connected device not found." is displayed, or no connected device is displayed in the Device Selection dialog box.

Confirm whether:
1) The power is on to the connected device,
and that it is in the playback mode.

2) The connection cable is properly connected.

3) The selected serial port is correct.

2-3 "Communication error (S59) (S50)" appears.
